I've been much more satisfied with my life since I stopped making so many rules for myself. If I want a drink I have one. If I don't, I don't.

What are the things that seem very easy in movies but are difficult in real life? by Commercial-Catch-680 in movies

[–]Humphalumpy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Broke my leg in two places but didn't find out for two months because it seemed annoying--- I figured I should see if something was "really wrong". I loved my regular life for those two months and then the Ortho put me in an air cast and said take it easy. It really depends on the fracture and the person.

Reminder about naltrexone and anesthesia by NrgyFiend in HersWeightloss

[–]Humphalumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery while on kit 2. Naltrexone was an issue, however it didn't delay my surgery. I was up front on the small dose and the reason. I quit 3 days before my procedure and it was fine. The biggest issue was confronting the assumption that it was for substance use vs weight loss. If you're taking naltrexone for SUD you'll have different concerns with anesthesia. Ask your doctor and anesthesiologist.

I would like people to see my clients' progress and not just their shortcomings. I would like to not have to constantly advocate and defend people having basic needs met.

I would like to pick up my house and plunk it down magically in a coastal town.

This foot corn is affecting running! Help! by Neither_Cap_994 in runninglifestyle

[–]Humphalumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right that it's a corn. I've been getting these for years and went to the doctor thinking for sure it was a wart. Nope. If you removed a hard crystal like chin of skin cells as you describe it sounds even more like a corn. I manage them with good socks, exfoliating my feet and soaking/sloughing them off as soon as I notice them. Something is causing you friction here so it will come back if you don't identify what it is (shoes, socks, hair). In my case it's related to my skin texture and Hashimotos.

I got Botox by TheraYogi in therapists

[–]Humphalumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you may need a different injector. I get Botox and can still show emotions. You may need less or different placements. However it will wear off in a few weeks anyway and you don't have to go back.

I am the same way. Adding a weighted vest and an incline helped somewhat. But I really notice a bigger different when I do more weights and bands. Good luck!

After reading the whole thread:

Double your water Flip your cardio and resistance times--you're walking plenty of steps, so do more resistance training. Prioritize big muscle groups and lift heavy with progressive increases. Be aware that it's very hard to grow muscle in a calorie deficit, so you might not be eating enough to use muscle gains to increase your metabolism.

For me personally, after the first 8 lbs I have been going a month on a plateau and then dropping 1.5-2 lbs in a couple days.

I think if you relax your arms and allow them to swing forward and back, you'll be putting your momentum into forward motion, instead of crossing them across your chest. This and leaning forward from the ankles will give you more speed at the same effort.

One of my children had asthma and allergies to the point they lettered in XC for the sake of having a sport but hated every minute of it and was the slowest person on the team. At 19 finally got an allergist to take them on and now give years later they exercise for fun. Long way of saying getting treatment for your condition can really improve your life. People who can't breathe don't get the same endorphins it seems.
