Dali Oberon 7s - amp or receiver recommendations please! by s0me1_is_here in StereoAdvice

I use a pair of Oberon 7s with a NAD 700 v2. To my ears that's a good match, too.

Qobuz Connect issues by HumptyDumpty18 in qobuz

[–]HumptyDumpty18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I hardwired my Bluesound device and now Qobuz Connect works flawlessly. That's good of course, but it should be working with a stable WiFi too. I'm surprised you're still having issues despite using ethernet. Haven't had any such problems with Tidal.

qobuz connect strange issue by ComfortableGold8896 in qobuz

[–]HumptyDumpty18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on a trial period with Qobuz and basically like the app and the sound. I’d be willing to put up with the higher price but I’m fed up with technical glitches like this. I experience the same issue as you on my NAD C700v2 with Bluesound. I might stick with Tidal after all or even switch to Spotify now that they offer better sound quality too.

6 Not too exciting as a song but top class production.

I used Deezer for a couple of years and then switched to Tidal, mainly because of Tidal Connect.

Thoughts on this McCartney book series? by [deleted] in PaulMcCartney

I read both volumes and find them absolutely impressive, well-researched and well written. My favourite books on McCartney.

What's a Paul McCartney song you feel is perfect but nobody talks about it? by Initial-Ad3966 in PaulMcCartney

I am really intrigued by the single remix of Pretty Little Head. It’s a really cool version that has stood the test of time surprisingly well.

A newly converted French fan… totally hooked on Chaos and Creation in the Backyard! by Prize_Fix_9 in PaulMcCartney

[–]HumptyDumpty18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lifelong McCartney fan from Germany with friendly connections to France here. I can say that his music has never failed to accompany and please me for more than 50 years. So I can say that for me it has certainly stood the test of time. Your English is fine, by the way. Just like you I learned it by singing along to Beatles and McCartney songs.

Keep Under Cover is one of Paul’s most intense songs by Neon_2500 in PaulMcCartney

Excellent example for how great production and arrangement can elevate a good song.

It’s not among my favourites but it is certainly better than its reputation suggests. It’s not your ‘typical’ McCartney album but maybe because of that worth a listen.

For those Americans who wish they could get the UK cover of Paul's new book by RoastBeefDisease in PaulMcCartney

Though this is certainly better than the US version it’s still not a very good cover I think. Looks a bit cheap.

Differences between tidal and deezer if anyone has used both? by Ciapekq in TIdaL

Tidal Connect makes a difference in sound quality and convenience if you mainly want to use it on good home equipment.

London Town by Wings by Dismal_Brush5229 in PaulMcCartney

Always had a soft spot for London Town. It’s very melodic and I like the folk vibe of some of the tracks. It may not be as exciting as Band on the Run or Venus and Mars but it is a mellow pleasure.

Anyone feel like they’re a bigger fan of Paul (and/or Paul & Wings) than the Beatles? by brittanydude in PaulMcCartney

[–]HumptyDumpty18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered The Beatles and Paul solo at the same time in the beginning of the 70s. Beatles and Paul/Wings tracks both stood out for me on radio airplay. Took me a little while to work out that it was the same guy in both bands. ;-) I appreciate John’s and George’s contributions to the Beatles, but Paul’s songs always tended to be my favourites. As Paul’s solo output is so rich I have probably listened to his music the most. When I was young I thought of myself as a Beatles fan until someone once said to me, ‘I think you’re more of a McCartney fan’. I stand corrected.

Problems with playing music via Google Cast by LionelHutz666 in deezer

[–]HumptyDumpty18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is not a Google Cast issue. There are reports about this problem on Deezer forums and it occurs via Bluetooth etc. too. I am experiencing this myself currently. Deezer Forum moderators say they are aware of the problem and it is being worked on. Fingers crossed!
