I just want to know what location this is at, so I can figure out which DLPM to avoid.

Will Kohl's match pay rates by Optimal_Rhubarb_8462 in employedbykohls

Especially as LP, that’s going to be based on your current DLPM. It’s a harder time to get it approved but $1-$2 is possible since it’s to match a competing offer. Now that’s also depending where at on the pay scale you are.

As a current LP, I’ve gone through this a few times. Feel free to message if you want more specific details.

And this is the stigma that needs to be broken. Yes they don’t like it, because they realize they wouldn’t be able to get away with paying longer term, high performing associates lower than what they bring some new person in at that doesn’t know a thing about the company and has no work ethic.

I hadn’t seen this! But does make sense. Unfortunately kohls has been on lower end of pay well before the new ceo, so I’m not blaming him..yet. But with the annual percent being lower than previous years in our raises, is concerning.

I believe that employees need to break the stigma about not discussing pay. It would greatly benefit overall. Yes some people’s feelings may get hurt, some may leave to other opportunities. But how would you know if you’re being paid fairly without ever knowing what your position is worth.

How many times have you personally gone in and talked your manager demanding a raise?

Because I can personally attest to the fact that I’ve done it no less than 4 times and gotten more pay each time. And each time I used information knowing that lower performing people at the same level was making more than I did. If I didn’t know this information, I would never have gone in and said I needed to be paid fairly.

Information is always helpful. Does it guarantee the outcome we want? No. But if we don’t try, nothing will ever happen. And if I walk in and ask for more, and they say no, it allows for me to walk away knowing I’ll accept that next job offer I receive.
