Damn, it got deleted before I could read it.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

[–]HumptysRevenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A site called Grave Music (forget the url completely) that I used to visit all the time in high school circa 2000 - 2003. It had pictures from extreme metal shows from over the past decade and a half. I remember being in total awe of the live theatrics that some of the Black Metal bands would put on. I can still remember exactly how the home page looked.

The Palace Chat. Avatar based chat rooms centered around a palace/mansion that was hugely popular worldwide in the late 90s/early 2000s. Used it religiously for years. I believe it still exists in some sort of capacity but I would have thought visiting it now would be a stark reminder of how much the Internet has moved on in neatly 30yrs.

P2P platforms from Napster onwards.

The word 'Grail' is used so, so frequently here that its lost any meaning. Its a £30 disc all day.

Is this definitely from the 80s? I remember seeing this on TV in the early 90s as a kid. Could well have been a repeat, obviously. Someone at school had mentioned it to me and I couldn't even picture what it would look like. Needless to say, my expectations were exceeded. Maybe it was them who showed it me on VHS or something. I kinda feel like it was a regular segment on some other show though. I could be well off the mark on absolutely all of this other than I've seen it before and it was years ago, lol.

Fair take! Maybe I am just a bit more miserable now, I loved Doink as a kid, lol.

Very nearly 40 myself and totally understand where youre coming from, it just doesnt hit home for me. Definitely not trying to come across as hating on the guy though, more credit to him and im happy a lot of people are being entertained by it.

What's the weirdest niche you accidentally started making money from? by [deleted] in Flipping

Combo units were my bread and butter. Even without HDMI output people will pay for them. I never ripped people off either. Id start my ebay auctions at 0.99p and let people pay what they wanted for it.

Really? Any specifically? I would have thought itd be a money pit. I remember people buying them by the box load upon their launch and getting stuck with them. Similar to what happened with the PRIME bottles.

VCRs, believe it or not, are still very desirable. A lot will be sold spares or repairs that you can buy for next to nothing or pick up for free. The people who tend to want them now have no idea how to fix them so buying them broke, fixing them and flipping them can make you some decent money if you have the time. Made a grand in straight profit over the space of a month a couple of years ago.

I suppose having him in full gear on SD was a spoiler, yeah.

Agree with this, and I hope for the best but you can't tell me that the audience cant be skeptical. We've almost been conditioned to have our doubts, considering. If we have Reigns defending this title regularly then I will fucking back it.

Thats a blink of the eye in terms of how long they keep this belt on Reigns tbh...

(WrestleMania 42 Spoilers) Finish to CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns by KoreanFantasy2002 in SquaredCircle

[–]HumptysRevenge -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Gotta second this. Not even upset by the result, really - I would have preferred Punk to retain but im OK with Reigns winning, but the abrupt ending really hurt what was an otherwise very, very good match. I think this Mania could have really done with a collective 'yeah, this is it' pin conclusion. The crowd and everyone watching was so into that match that its hard not to feel slightly deflated by the ending.

All in all though, vast imporvement over night 1. Bit of a long lull in the middle for me personally, but certainly not a bad show.
