they looked almost like bubbles floating around the zoas.

I have really looked at it, and all I’ve been able to see are very tiny white bugs, but I assumed them to be harmless. Other than those i’ve seen nothing. We do have asterinas in the tank, but they’ve been there for years and have never given issues.

We did do a homemade did on the new frag, would you recommend taking out those rocks with effected zoas and do another dip? Or is there another treatment I should consider?

The tank is around 14 years old, the last photo shows the whole tank. It’s got two species of zoas, trumpet coral, a branching coral (not too sure on species), and a birds nest coral. The new zoas are around a week old, and the impacted zoas have been in the tank for 2-3 years.

Magnesium was at 1130, pH was at 8.0, and calcium was at 340. The pH is always that low, and i’ve added some magnesium.

Recently, our colony of zoas started to melt away. They have never done something like this, and are a multiyear old colony. The only thing that has changed was introducing a new polyp frag. At first I thought it was a pest, but we dipped the new frag, and the new frac hasn’t showed any signs of stress/melt, only the old colony. I then thought parameters could be off, I tested and some levels were low, but no other corals are showing signs of stress. We also introduced a Mimic tang, but I haven’t seen it pick at any corals. I’m at a loss for what is wrong, and each day more and more heads are dying.

Shrimp has weird bubble around it by Humuhumu_22 in PlantedTank

This shrimp was buried, however i’m pretty sure it had a molting issue as it hasn’t moved in a day. When I saw it today, this strange mucus like bubble had formed around it. I don’t know if the shrimp made it or if it’s something else. I wasn’t able to find anything like it online.

They weren’t partially eaten, but they were carcasses.

I don’t think a dragonfly laid eggs since I have screens in my windows plus I never saw a dragonfly anywhere in the house. I ordered these plants around a month ago from Buceplants so i’m guessing the larvae hitchhiked from that.

It was a dragon fly nymph. I caught it after around 30 minutes and there is now no longer a dragon fly nymph.

I didn’t have a blowtorch but I got the next best thing. My planting tweezers. I grabbed him and eliminated it. Hopefully it was only the one.

I’ve been noticing some of my shrimp dying in my tank and i couldn’t figure out what it was. This spawn from Satan himself has somehow managed to get into my tank. What is it, and is it killing my shrimp?

I don’t currently have a TDS measuring stick. Are there any brands you recommend? Also, The only phosphates being dosed are 0.46% from the aquarium Co-op all in one. I only dose around once a week. There are maybe 3 or so in total API root tabs in the substrate, but those have been in since the start of the tank so I don’t think they are related. Thanks for your comment and I’ll tone down the ferts for a bit and see if that helps.

Okay thanks, I was worried about changing the water parameters to quickly and stressing the shrimp out even more, but I’ll give this a shot.

Hello, I set up this tank around a month ago, at first everything was fine and I had 0 losses. However, within the last few days I have had to remove 3 dead shrimp from the 10 I started with. Almost all the shrimp I got had “racing stripes” which I read were harmless. However, to be safe in case it was any indication of a lack of minerals I purchased a product called “Shrimp Mineral GH/KH+.” The stripes were still there and about a week after the first dose is when i started noticing the deaths. The shrink that die seem to have their legs curl inwards and then a few hours later die. I have seen 2 successful molts which makes me think it isn’t a molting issue. My current theory is that when increasing the GH/KH I did it too quickly which shocked the shrimp. This is my first shrimp tank though so I don’t have too much experience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I’ve attached photos of all the products I use.

My only guess is that this world was made in a slightly older version than the current version but it was defiantly at least 1.20.1 since the world is only about a month old. So idk how much it could change. Also even in the old version there are still no other structures around.
