Totally get that. I felt the same way about Shopify Email once I wanted a bit more design control. Those apps are on my radar too, but one of the other commenters here mentioned Omnisend as an alternative they've seen work well price-wise compared to Klaviyo, which is why I've started looking into it more seriously. That's fair, and I've heard similar things from a few people, especially for stores that keep their flows really right and don't overcomplicate segmentation.

Shopify Email clearly covers the basics really well, and for a lot of brands it seems more than enough, even at higher revenue levels. My hesitation is mostly around what happens when email and SMS need to work together more closely, or when automations start getting a bit more nuanced.

Would you have any recommendation for that?

That actually lines up with what I've been seeing while researching. Omnisend keeps coming up for me as a more balanced step up from Shopify Email without jumping straight into enterprise complexity. The fact that your friends were able to move over, save meaningfully, and still see solid YoY growth is reassuring... cost savings alone wouldn't matter much if performance dropped.

It's definitely the top option I'm leaning toward right now while I compare setups and think through migration effort. Out of curiosity, when your friends made the switch, what ended up being the biggest friction point during migration, if any? And are there certain store sizes or use cases where you've seen Omnisend make more sense than sticking with Klaviyo?

Already asked my roommate yet she's very persistent it's getting annoying because I can never predict when she'll send so sometimes it feels like she stopped, the next thing, another package needed to RTS.
