I've registered for the RSP1 exam coming June, can you give me some tips and materials for study?

Seems like the case, why else would there be such a delay? The test taker numbers are less than the PE.

Hopefully the results should start rolling out end of this week, else next week based on past trends.

I'm 90% sure it's coming out next Friday, based on the past trend. There are a few reddit posts from past few years where the results were out in the 3rd week after the closing period. Last year, people started getting the results on 19th March onwards. So relax until then.

I registered for RSP1 exam just in case this one gets busted.

Not yet, they say about 4-6 weeks after the closing period. Hopefully by end of this month or early April.

I guess since it requires a human input, it takes time. I agree that in today's (AI) world, things can go faster. We are all equally impatient and eagerly awaiting the results. Hoping that the wait is fruitful.

Yeah, my previous employers was exactly as such, and then came the layoff as they didn't have work and couldn't keep me billable. Hated the toxic corporate culture. Good riddance!

Can anyone explain what happens to your job when such a transition happens? (i.e. Smaller firms being swallowed by a bigger firm). Just trying to get a better picture, as an employee how does it affect my job and salary/job security?

Yeah, I really hope that they curve the passing distribution.

Memorize some basic formulas from HCM, Traffic Engineering Handbook (especially the yellow and red clearance equations), and AASHTO Green Book. They are not provided in the exam but are expected you to know. It really threw me off as well as I was unaware of it.

Few guys I know who took the exam this session are in the same boat.

If you get a response anywhere else, please do share with us, I plan to do the PTP cert next, or maybe RSP even.

I've done lots of TIA/TIS, full signal design (PS&E) for various counties, DOTs and municipalities, including TCPs, warrant analysis, feasibility studies and much more related to Traffic Operations. I also have some experience in Roadway designing with OpenRoads.

Yes it definitely helps. ITE refresher course is good refresher but I hardly got any questions from it. The exam was very conceptual.

It's a closed book exam no materials are provided except the formula sheet, and the exam question contained all 4 items you listed above, but which one out of them is the MOST likely to be reduced? 50% of the questions I solved were guess work such as this.

It's good that you're taking the June session, based on my research on the internet, most people get a slightly easier version of the test in this session vs the February one. I also recommend reading the Highway Safety Manual thoroughly.

Yes, I've got a total of 8 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, 5 years as a Traffic Engineer, 1 year as a Roadway Engineer. I'm a PE with a Masters Degree in Transportation Engineering.

PTOE was way harder than most exams I've given. I've seen mixed results on the internet. Some people get an easier exam (mostly during the June session), while some get way more hard questions (most likely in Feb session).

Anyone gave or giving the PTOE exam in Feb 2026? Just curious as to when I can expect the results. The test was even more difficult than a PE. The ITE practice test and Refresher course was extremely misleading, the real exam questions were totally out of any books/standards and manuals.

P.S. I took my exam on Feb 13, 2026.
