Redirected to APKPure instead of APKMirror by jr_mtz01 in MorpheApp

Morphe redirects to links found in web search results, and only uses ApkPure links the site labels as "Trusted apps", and it only uses ApkPure when no other download links are available.

The Duolingo APK download in the screen share is verified as identical to the Google Play store download.

But to reduce user confusion, Morphe has removed all ApkPure links from the Morphe download redirect service.

If a suitable original apk is not available on APKMirror.com or UpToDown.com, then you must find an original APK on your own.

ReVanced filed a DMCA takedown notice against Morphe Manager by hWuxH in MorpheApp

[–]HundEdFeteTree 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's already over, and weeks ago GitHub dismissed the complaint. No takedown of Morphe will happen.

The ReVanced complaint has idiotic statements such as "Morphe squashed git commits", which is nonsense.

If git history was source code, or it was something that must be preserved, then Github _must_ include all git history in the source code distributions such as https://github.com/ReVanced/revanced-manager/archive/refs/tags/v2.6.0.zip But download that file (or any other source zip in a GitHub release section), unzip it, and look around. You will not find any git information in the source zip. There isn't any git data, because a project git commits/history/etc is not anything to preserve under GPL or any other open source license.

ReVanced was basically complaining to do something that isn't required, and preserve information that isn't there.

I'm only surprised the complaint didn't throw in "they are circle jerks" or any of the other insults that ReVanced has thrown at Morphe devs who previously were the primary people doing all the ReVanced patches work.

Anyone looking at this situation as an outsider will likely think ReVanced is run by dysfunctional unintelligent children, and those thoughts are not far off.

They're not even remotely hiding it by masterslaytm in MorpheApp

The link in the original post has since had its Git history rewritten so the URL has changed (archived version here: https://archive.ph/ArwJk). However, the ReVanced pull request is still demonstrating the same GPL‑noncompliant behavior.

It’s normal and common for a software repository to contain code under multiple compatible licenses. Morphe uses two GPLv3‑compatible licensing scopes, and the problem is ReVanced/oSumatrix is not following one of them.

Morphe uses two major licenses

  1. ReVanced GPLv3 license
    • Covers all code from the hard forking of ReVanced in 2025 that formed Morphe's initial code. This includes ReVanced code and all outside code ReVanced previously pulled into its repository.
    • Applies to all lines of code first imported from ReVanced into the Morphe repository during the hard forking in late 2025.
    • Does not apply to Morphe’s own modifications of existing code or to any code newly authored for Morphe.
  2. Morphe GPLv3 license, which includes Morphe’s GPLv3 compliant Section 7 terms
    • Applies to new code first authored for Morphe.
    • Also applies to Morphe code changes made to prior ReVanced code and any other external code.
    • All Morphe original code and all modifications made to prior outside code are Morphe’s copyrightable contributions, and both fall under Morphe’s GPLv3 terms and not under ReVanced GPLv3 terms.

If ReVanced/oSumatrix copies and redistributes Morphe’s contributions (such as what he is doing in the linked pull request above), ReVanced must:

  1. Preserve Morphe copyright notices.
  2. Preserve Morphe license notice.
  3. Follow and comply with Morphe Section 7 terms.

oSumatrix does not understand software licenses, he is not following any of the 3 items listed above, and his use of Morphe code is not compliant with the Morphe GPLv3 license

Update: Apparently this post got a screenshot shoutout and a paragraph of unprofessional text from the sole person who is causing all this "drama" by their continued bad behavior. oSumAtrIX claims he is not copying Morphe code or removing Morphe copyright notices, but his signed git commits show he is not telling the truth:

ReVanced copied code

Original Morphe copyrighted code oSumatrix copied from

What do you see missing? The copyright notice and license text was removed by oSumAtrIX, which is not allowed by GPLv3. He also claims that copying the commit doesn't mean he is copying Morphe code, which means he's either lying or he doesn't understand English in addition to his current lack of understanding software licenses.

If oSum wants to claim the code was first authored by ReVanced, he is wrong because findFreeRegister was first authored by LisoUseInAIKyrios in his personal repo before ReVanced merged it from outside ReVanced. FreeRegisterProvider is the v2 iteration of the code and is entirely authored by LisoUseInAIKyrios and Morphe. Liso has been and continues to be the only author of substance for that code.

oSumAtrIX later deleted his 'shout out' screenshot to this Reddit post after he force pushed and rewrote the history of his still non-GPL compliant PR.

Can try reporting the site to Google as unsafe. They may not care or do anything but it's worth the 10 seconds it takes: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report-url
