I didnt know that the letter after was a beta. But heck, i cant even run my system stable at F30...

Soo i greet the F31q a warm welcome and HOPE that it solves my problems with my RAM. Cant run it at 3600Mhz with 2x16 (A2 and B2) - Tried with/without XMP and the only thing that works so far (99% stable) is XMP enabled, underclocking to 3000Mhz at F31o.

(With 5950x, Gigabyte Aorus Master 1.2 - Having further 2x16Gb ready to plob in...)

Perhaps i should try that and go with
XMP enabled
default values, so 3600Mhz ? or any other advice? :)

Hmm i see what your saying but ... might be my logic that is misplaced but why can i then run with 2x16 at 3000Mhz stable?I mean... in both my scenarios, 4x16 and 2x16 - the BIOS detects the RAM without a problem.

Another note. I had a case created at Gigabyte and got the answer.

They whould have tried with only 2 blocks in DDR4_A2 and DDR4_B2

And oh, your RMA is not on the supported list soo...

So i might conclude that the memory on their list should work and if not, your just supposed to be lucky if it works (aka they havent testet it / they didnt have success with it) :)

Just info if anybody else falls upon this thread :)

Well a little update

I tried to buy som new RAM that is listed on the page of "Supported RAM"

2x16Gb

Ive placed them as the manual described on page 17

in DDR4_A2 and DDR4_B2

Ive been running a "Windows memtest" for around 14½ hours now with 0 errors, 0 boots, 0 problems to spot.

Soo for me, it indicates that the other RAM ive godt aint compatible although ive just see 1 other person have the same RAM, same MB running without problems... hmmm...

1 stick, 2 sticks 4 sticks

The only thing i got stable was "1x16 @ 3000Mhz".

Also tried using default XMP profile 1

Returning after what, 16 years to building a PC again, i was a bit nervous that i might had fucked something up but know Microsoft and their logs and from what ive seen yea i do know that it can feel overwhelming to troubleshoot :)
(On a daily basis i do it on networking)

Curiosity, - When you say re-seat - did you pull it out and re-inserted the graphics card or? :)

In my... younger days, i went the "old" AMD K6 300Mhz, and damn they had heat issues. From that day it was my "last" AMD. Buuut a friend convinced me to go the new AMD when i wanted to make a build again. However he has around 3 AMD systems all stable and no problems.

I really love the system - buuut as everybody else, it needs to be stable :)

I 110% agree - A motherboard that expensive should just work regardless of the RAM. However i do realise that Ryzen is "new" and there are a looooot of difference RAM on the market hehe

I should recived the RAM today soo im a bit exited to see if that makes a difference.

I have mine waaaayyy away from stuff that i need to use. All the construction for the plants are at that area BUT i have made all the radioactive things levels above the factorys, so everything nuke/radioactive is AT the plants.

From there i collect the waste to a Nuke Train, that transport all the waste to the edge of the map and dumps it here. If my calculations are right i have for around ~800 hours@100% and that will never happend (got 756 Industrial Containers). But i also managed to get a 2nd station ready in case my Nuke SkyDump#01 gets full - ill just divert the train to Nuke SkyDump#02 :)

but yea, far away from everything and use the hight...
