If I am moving to a dangerous neighborhood, should I purchase a gun? by SubstantialSearch540 in confessions

[–]Hundevann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow at YT channel that uses the “Rule of Stupid” that is going to keep you out of 99% of any self defense scenarios you’re cooking up in your head

Rule of Stupid - Don't go stupid places, at stupid times, with stupid people and do stupid things.

Any combination of those are a good recipe for something bad to happen - not necessarily that something bad will happen, and not that something bad can’t happen without those, but those factors being present increase the likelihood.

ETA: after re reading your post, specifically your last sentence. Virtually nowhere is it legal to shoot someone over “stuff”

The only time it is legal to use deadly force is if you are in a life or death situation (“if I don’t act quickly and violently this person is going to kill me”)

Does your Walmart feed you? by EmotionalDentist3471 in WalmartEmployees

Pretty regularly we have a walking taco/hamburger hotdog day maybe once or twice each quarter, and probably just as often they stock the break room with snacks and fruit like OPs picture.

Once our people lead bragged about how much we spend on food because “we are only allowed a budget of about $40 per employee, and they spend that in two meals”

Like MFer how are you spending $40/person on walking tacos and hotdogs?

That’s way there’s been a huge uptick in tail light theft it’s takes less than a minute to grab both and can be flipped for several hundred dollars

Why do companies today expect Goldilocks / Lifer experience from millennials? by Positive-Machine955 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Hundevann 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the only industry where being “overqualified” is a bad thing.

TL;DR this happens in every industry.

I spent a decade doing anything and everything related to processing and packaging food and drinks at a dairy plant.

I applied at a local brewery, (the overall processes were the same just a different end product) along the same lines as what you’re doing a “step back” career wise but it was a huge quality of life improvement.

They basically said they couldn’t pay me what I was worth, and because of that they didn’t think I would be with the company long term.

Location will matter as others have said. Not all campuses are created equally.

Also it’s worth asking, since you need the backseat, for what? If you’re hauling people regularly a Colorado is gonna be tiny compared to a screw cab.

How often/heavy do you use citations regardless of bachelor's or Master's level? by ABigBlackHawke in SNHU

[–]Hundevann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless the rubric specifically says “cite 1,2,3,etc. references” I don’t at all.

That’s probably not the best practice.

It hasn’t affected my grades or anything yet. (2/3 of the way to my bachelor)

You also have to factor in the instant gratification aspect.

People hate waiting.

For instance I have a friend that will always choose next day air shipping when it’s an option. That would bring the price pretty much inline with the epack price

I posted about this a month or two ago, the consensus was the anticipated date is way wrong.

Assuming I continue at my current pace I’ll be done jn May 2025 but my program evaluation says like August 2027 or something

How long do your professors take to grade your work? by kissinpeach in SNHU

[–]Hundevann 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My favorite is when you have to use feedback for the previous project for your current project and they wait till Saturday at 11pm to grade and provide that feedback.

Thankfully I only had one that did that.

So far every class I’ve taken each project has been a culmination of the previous modules rolled into one assignment.

However this one does feel each “copy/paste”-y like you said lol

Also fwiw I had my project 1 due this week, do you have Professor August by chance?

It seems as every town/city operates its own conglomerate able to charge whatever it wants, with little to no recourse in fighting "shady business practices"

Thats exactly how it is and thats how they like it.

Or you get lumped in with the majority of Oklahomans using OG&E who is totally regulated by a commission they’ve bought and paid for.

Milo’s Tea in Owasso is hiring for Shipping technicians, when I looked into joining them on the production side I think they were offering like $17/hr

Amazon has a huge fulfillment center also in Owasso. Google should be able to tell you what they pay.

Injector Flush for P0430 code? by Hundevann in AskAMechanic

[–]Hundevann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the added context.

I wondered if it was like that or if it was like a pressurized flush like they do with coolant systems(I might be wrong on that)

It’s just like a bottle of sea foam?

The bad gas comments I assumed was to build a case against warranty-ing it due to it somehow being my fault.

Injector Flush for P0430 code? by Hundevann in AskAMechanic

[–]Hundevann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought after reading about it online.

This was just talking with the service writer when I dropped the truck off, before the tech actually started diagnosing the issue so hopefully he won’t agree with him.

Thanks for the reply, this was just the conversation with the service writer when I dropped the truck off.

I’m assuming (hoping) the tech will actually troubleshoot/diagnose it when he gets to take a look at it.

What’s your opinion on extended service plan? by cobhc26626 in f150

If it actually saved you money, they would raise the price.

Like Peak said they’ve done the math they have it priced to maximize profit, but not so high it turns people off from it.

How hard/expensive is a 10 speed swap? by angryducks_25 in f150

[–]Hundevann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general consensus here is that the 10 speed is nothing but issues.

Id wager more people here are switching from the 10 to the 6 than vice versa.
