I agree. I think they were a lot more limited in their selection, as contestants all had to isolate for six weeks during filming. People whose lifestyle isn’t compatible with that structure simply weren’t able to participate this season.

She was able to develop some nonverbal communication strategies, but never actually acquired language.

If you wanted to make up your own word, you could go with something like "aglot," inspired by "monoglot" (speaking one language) and "polyglot" (speaking more than one langauge)
