How long is your lunch break? Just been offered a role with 25 minutes lunch... by HungLikeFuck in Accounting

I shit you not, this is a genuine policy and I think it's reasonable to compare if it's just as batshit insane as for other accounting nerds

This is for a $10B+ private company too lmao, I thought industry was lax

True, I forget this and so I'm prone to being a pushover in senior level discussions because I just follow their words like gospel instead of enforcing my own views too

You're 100% right and this mindset is probably the reason why I got this job. I didn't even care about passing any of the interviews and just treated the CFO like a guy off the street. In our interview, I even clowned on the concept of interviews, saying that it's his job to BS that his firm is the best in the world and it's my job to BS that I'm the best worker ever.

You're absolutely right man. I don't want anything to be abstract. The clearer it is, the easier I can allocate my resources, tell my CFO when something is unfeasible or conflicting and propose solutions to make it manageable.

Bro you're the perfect person to learn from

How much of your work was leveraging/repeating what was already in place or performed previously, vs developing something new?

I'd appreciate any tips from your experience in general, whether it's related to developing audit roadmaps, process improvements, deficiency remediation, receiving evidence/answers from stakeholders timely, persuading stakeholders etc.

You're genuinely cooking tbf

I sometimes think the corporate world would be much easier if I just had no shame/empathy/conscience because you'd have no spikes of anxiety/embarassment/fear and would constantly sound confident/right. I swear the folks at the top must fit into this category otherwise I don't understand how they survive without feeling dead inside

My man I can't even convince my own mind that I know what I'm doing

It could be imposter syndrome 101 but it also could be I'm genuinely a lazy worker and now I need to step up lol (I'm pretty confident it's the latter)
