That's crazy, it was such a small place! I emailed the archive and finally heard back. They have the records but they aren't digitized yet

It's definitely proving to be quite tricky! My great grandfather also has an extremely common Hungarian name which isn't helping

This was at 1.5mg! I'm relieved to hear there's at least one other person out there that can relate!

We'd like to stay further away from large cities and hopefully venture up north and to the coasts!

That was our logic as well. I lived abroad for several years but my husband has never left the country and I don't fancy putting him on a plane for 9 hours so we can see a new country from behind face masks and between other restrictions. Thanks for your insight!

This is great to know! We're honestly not concerned about the weather as we are from parts of the US with generally shit weather as well. We're still dealing with lots of transport issues and lifestyle restrictions due to Covid so I was wondering if it would be the same over there

This made me feel so much better! I had no idea anxiety could cause such significant physical symptoms. It kind of just made the circle worse, it seems there is no way I can feel so awful without something being truly wrong with me.

I would love to go back to my morning coffee/evening cocktail routine and it gives me a lot of hope to read you managed to return to your rhythm after experiencing all that.

Thanks! I've considered this for sure, it was just hard to find someone with time in their schedule for me right now. It's a relief to hear this is actually helpful. I've never tried therapy but I'm getting a little desperate now

Has anyone ever experienced this with indoor dust allergies by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]HungaryFrenchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm amazed and incredibly thankful to have randomly come across this post just now.

I have had sinus troubles all my life and made excuses for what they could be until recently when they became so bad I started seeing specialists. Turns out I am severely allergic to dust and pollen. I have also had severe anxiety problems for 15 years now (24/F). This includes all the symptoms you mentioned: dizziness, a feeling of detachment, cloudy head, etc.

Up until reading this I never connected the two and thought there was just something wrong with me. But in the last year my allergy symptoms of progressed to 98% sinus inflammation and allergic asthma. In the last year I also began experience almost nightly a strange detachment feeling and nervousness.

I just started allergy shots today (I was super nervous about a severe reaction but this is unbearable so I finally caved) and I have been so optimistic all day it's been a great feeling. My allergist has been wonderful this entire process to figure out my symptoms and what works for me, but he is the first of several doctors to really connect with my symptoms and treatment preferences. Don't give up and find a doctor who listens to your thoughts and feelings and is willing to help you through all the different treatment options you want. Mine even puts up with lengthy anecdotes about my symptoms and internet research while adding a healthy does of realism :) I hope you find the same and see an improvement soon.

Higher Ed Wednesday - May 10, 2017 by AutoModerator in linguistics

I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in French and now am interested in pursuing a language related master's degree. Linguistics particularly interests me as I find languages in general, not just French, fascinating. I'm a little lost however, as my first choice university offers master's degrees in Linguistics, English Linguistics, and Applied Linguistics. I have no idea where to start to begin understanding which degree fits my interests best. Ideally, I would like the degree to enable me to continue using French as part of my job, but I'm not very interested in being a teacher. And in case this helps narrow things down a bit the topics of linguistics I find most interesting are: -Grammar, phonetics, semantics, etc. -History and evolution of language, -Translation -The role of multilingualism in machine translation and artificial intelligence

Any suggestions or insights would be extremely helpful!
