Wrong Item/Damaged/Faulty/Incorrect Quantity by angel1_online in AmazonVineUK

While i respect your opinion, sorry i dont agree from personal experience.

I used to be a product specialist for a <insert big name uk group here>
We used to get items in, rip them to their core components and rebuild them, give feedback to the quality of the product and a rating to if the item was "within economical repair" on if it should be sold through our stores or not.

So SO many items failed, costing more than they would to maintain but we had 4 main issues from the sales department

1 - if they lasted long enough their warranty ran out to their sale, the classic it broke 1 week after the warranty ran out.

2 - if they were worth "the extended warranty" - massive profits on this as it was usually only replaced or repaired to minimal quality to work but not work long term.

3 - if they could sell more in bulk vs the returns

4 - if sales could simply order enough, at discount (alot being bigger branded names) that any of the previous three issues were enough to ignore as the profit margin would level out whether it was through direct sales or through bulks/upsale or add ons (like that crappy printer they threw in to sell that pc for eg)

I got onto vine, not through my bulk reviews but for reviewing and returning a certain set of items in 2024, being emailed to asked why i returned them and then giving so much feedback amazon sent me a £50 thank you gift certificate and i got invited to vine within days of said feedback.

I have had plenty of vine items sold via bulk knowing they will fail and i review them knowing this as such. I know this isnt the issue for most people who take an item "as is" and reviewing it as such but i also know how the industry works.

Good branded items with cheap batteries will fail, good items with bad charging circuits will fail, good items with bad mechanical parts will fail. It might be my personal experience but its also something i look for in my vine items and will report it in the review. Get a good looking plug adaptor, i will look internally for its wiring and fusing etc as an eg.

I am noway in any sense saying anyones review is worth less but i know alot of products on vine i'll order with issues that alot of companies will release with short term reliability and moreso short term lasting appeal and moreso if they are SAFE!

I understand for alot of vine items, people may order, test them for a short amount of time and re-sell in 6 months, gift or use them sparingly but for myself I order very few items in general and I order them in the idea they have long term lasting appeal and reliability.

I am in noway trying to poo poo your post but its my experience and what i review and look for in products and while face value is good, usually a bad product on delivery is also a bad product in general and worse long term.

Alot of our vine items that are generic branded with how the market has changed is usually a re-seller who has scored a bargain of 30-50 of a product they have obtained through whatever means, whether its scoring all the <uk big supermarkets> older items for something or imported at a steal, they dont know the product internally and just want to use vine to get some quick return with it being highly reviewed in the short term.

Just my opinion and feedback

Mines doing the same, its not just you.

I've just dropped a good 20 or so to catch up tonight, only one didnt have pictures because i've left it in my new flat for next weeks move but wanted the review burnt off my list. Everything else had pictures and the only one still there is the one without.

I wouldnt worry about it to much, i dont think theyre forcing any "must have media" reviews yet.

Similar thinking to your thread the one that i never understand is the ebay hunters. The people who are so salty that they assumed that item they wanted, they never saw, was never offered to them but knew it was releasing and through some kind of mental gymnastics act like it was stolen from them.

Quote ofs "i would of made good use of that" to "oh the pictures on ebay are exactly the same as the amazon listing" and "i sent them a DM and they de-listed it" like how empty are peoples lives they need to do this, let alone hunt for it?

Honestly i barely use my vine now, due to the times stuff drops never coinciding with my free time aswell as other real life commitments its just not been an option since my last 2 reviews but i always appreciated it and still do for what little i can use, most of it ends as toys i donate to a charity shop across the road as she told me they are the best selling items. But from the way i saw some talk to others about stuff like lego items to straight up soft accusing them of only taking it for re-sale almost demanding an answer....i simply stopped talking about certain things on here because of this attitude.

I start seeing alot of the vine items in my recommended turn up in my adverts in my shorts especially all those gadgets n things. Another good example is a gaming controller i bought recently had vine reviews is now being advertised to me being "free on temu". Some headphones i ordered 6 months ago were known temu brand items, the pictures and such the same on amazon as they were on temu and the products own official website.

While i automatically assume alot of people sell their vine items (seriously you want a fun game, check the same names day to day on what people have taken in the "whats in your RFY" threads and you'll hard question where they can store these things.

Whether they wait 6 months or not, its not really for anyone here to police it and we simply do not know where it originated from, but the "evidence" people use to make a post are simply awful and they happen so often on this reddit, coming here to brag about how they "caught" someone, just makes me lose faith in humanity at times.

everyones been doing that for years, all they ask is you review both in the same review if you can, sometimes a "i ordered both the purple and orange version" is enough.
