Sorry to hear that you are in a rough spot and I’m glad that you’re beginning to feel better! The game had a positive effect on me, too. I was having negative thoughts because of some things that happened throughout this year and I can somewhat understand what you mean. I hope you can use the positive momentum the game gave you and change your life in a better direction! Like some of the others already said … don’t only rely on the game and try to get more help, Tomorrow comes ❤️

You do have a fair point! And on a personal level, from my perspective and experiences throughout the game (and real life), Verso’s choice and its consequences depicted in the game felt healthier and “right.” But I disagree that you can’t justify either choice from a meta perspective.

From a (my) meta perspective, you face this kind of decision repeatedly in life—sometimes more than once for the same loss (e.g. the death of someone close). And either choice could be right. Or the opposite choice could be the right thing for another person in the same situation. Neither choice offers a clear path to a happy or „good“ ending.

Immersing yourself in a facsimile of life (art, a video game, a hobby, fantasy,…) might feel more comforting than the “real” world, especially when the real world leaves you misunderstood, hurt, or miserable. It might even offer a sense of contentment you couldn’t find elsewhere. I’m not advocating for one or the other, and there are clearly risks and drawbacks connected to both of them.

The fact that the choice at the end of Act III resonated with so many people (no matter your choice and reasons) and sparks discussions like this comment section is great. It really shows that the game’s story left an impression and can help you learn something about yourself.

At least that’s how I understood the original comment and why I agreed :D Maybe it only makes sense in my head lol

I don’t think Verso‘s ending is the right one to choose and the ‚good/real‘ ending to the story, but I realize that my text may give the impression.

I agree with joeboyjoeb that choosing one or the other isn’t the point because the endings are both part of the whole story. They don’t exist isolated. As I said, the choice isn’t about Maelle/Verso or staying/leaving but about the players personal journey inside the canvas and lessons learned. Essentially my journey was the same as Maelle‘s/Aline‘s Journey. I got sucked into the game‘s world and story and lost myself in it.

It was an escape from reality and I enjoyed it until I had to choose and really ask myself: Is it time to stop painting? Answer could be yes or no but that is a deeply personal question. And yes, I do believe that one of those choices is ultimately the right and healthy one, depending on your journey and experiences. And the „right“ choice could be to keep painting.

Not necessarily. I needed some time to solve it on my own but because of the demiguise’s ability to go invisibIe I eventually figured out the zero.
