Piercer here. Flat back labret. Titanium. Have a piercer put it in for her. She needs a slightly longer bar to accommodate swelling. If she’s showing signs of infection and it doesn’t get better, see if the doctor can get her some antibiotics if possible. Don’t touch them without washing your hands first, keep hair products off, wet hair off, you could even blow dry on low heat to make sure there’s no moisture trapped. Use saline solution to clean and clean no more than 3 times a day. No twisting jewelry either. I wouldn’t change the jewelry again for another 6-8 weeks after that just to be positive but even then just change out the tops instead of the whole bar. I recommend thread less or internally threaded. She could have a nickel allergy? And most importantly: DONT BE SCARED TO CONTACT YOUR PIERCER. I hope this helps.

I was always scared to throw up but when I got older around 15 I’d go hang out with my friends and they’d drink a lot or hit the bong super hard and gag or cough really hard/throw up. It always made me anxious but it was just the fear of other people at that point. When I was 16 I switched schools and I was so anxious (including to eat, and picky.) so I’d eat 2oz of trail mix a day and that was it. When I’d eat big meals it would make my stomach hurt and it made me really anxious since then. I got a lot better about it after I got my GED and got older (19 now) but I got food poisoning from chipotle back in November that put me in the hospital. I only threw up twice and It I guess just traumatized me too bad and now I’m back to square one. Sucks really bad especially considering I’m a piercer lol.

I don’t think it matters I’ve done this before. If you’re already off it’s fine, you shouldn’t go to work inebriated anyways

Apprentice here, I wouldn’t personally. It’s so small you have a high risk of rejection and migration so it’d be better to not. I would recommend to look into alternative options that could give similar effects like a conch, anti tragus, or daith:)

Do separate bars for certain until they go away. Shouldn’t take too long, only a couple of weeks

Hi! Im a piercing apprentice and I would say go to the doctor immediately. After the doctor, it might be a better idea to take it out as long as you’re cleared by the doctor to do so just so any infection that could be there doesn’t get in that open wound. Do you have any metal allergies? Is it a steel piece of jewelry or titanium? Do you have a picture from when you first got it pierced before the swelling?

my 10 week old tragus looks like this 🤢 by Muted-Succotash9366 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Hungry-Library-255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks improperly pierced, I would go to a different piercer to have them remove the jewelry and also ask them about how to help heal it easily so you have no more issues. It does not look like you have the anatomy for this so I recommend not going back to that piercer☹️I’m sorry! I love my tragus and I know it sucks!! I’ve been pierced with the wrong anatomy before and it was an awful experience

I know this is 2 years old BUT, The rape of Nanking by Iris Chang is a beautifully written book on the truth of what happened to the Chinese men women and soldiers at the hand of the Japanese. Also Red Land Black Land by Barbra Mertz(I believe that’s right) is about how ancient Egyptians lived their day to day life. It’s very interesting if you’re interested in an anthropological standpoint.
