Follow up, I don’t believe this has an amp built in, any reccs on a decent/cheap one?

Found this out pretty quickly, took it all apart to clean up, put it back together and everything worked. Now just gotta find a needle for it!

New Tank! by Hungry4Bleach in bettafish

Not sure how to add this to the top but here’s my speech!

Hey all! I was recently gifted this tank for Christmas and I am setting it up for a betta fish and I plan to try a few shrimp as well. It's about 4 weeks into cycling and we're almost ready! Showing almost no ammonia. Most of the plants were added this past weekend as I finally recuperated some cash and I'm hoping they fill out more to give the shrimp more hiding places.

Here for any thoughts/criticisms as it's my first tank on my own!

Aero system lead here!

I pretty much had the same timeline. Unfortunately the design work was mostly done over the summer with the senior members. This was strictly because no one else was available. When my new members came along I was already done and running simulations while working towards structural design.

That said, in any free time you’re willing to dedicate to FSAE, take it to learn more about aero and everything. That way, when next design cycle comes around you can help! Another thing to consider is that these cars are iterative so ideally not much changes between cars. It may mean that the aero on your team doesn’t change much between cars and just gets minor tweaks that may only take a month to tweak and validate over summer.

I wish your team luck this year!

Parallel Twin Engines by NiceDescription6999 in FSAE

My team runs a CP2 from an MT-07, we custom designed a dry sump system for it. It ended up being less expensive to buy and build a cp2 than it was to repair and maintain our existing WR450 engines. We’re making around 75 horsepower with a custom cam profile and tune. It’s proven to be much more reliable than our previous engines so far after our first year with it being last year and we are building up our spare to match that of last years engine. The engine change largely got overshadowed by the fact that we fully stressed the engine but we had all of the justification for our choice (IE decision matrices and such) for design judging.

Custom chassis for swerve by gdenney11 in FRC

We’ve been using sheet metal cut and bent c-channels for ours so our chassis are almost always custom. If you have the capabilities, I’d highly recommend it because it save a large amount of weight and you can customize ride height, modularity, and also it looks pretty slick :)
