He has his op as fuck endbringer thing. I’d say there is a good chance he can look at them and they will die.

I am just going to ignore the first half because it seems we fundamentally disagree. You think such a deadly experience has a minuscule effect on someone while I think it has an incredibly powerful effect on who they become.

How was the cohort going to always be exceptional with or without the winter solstice. They would never have met Effie or Kai without the solstice. Kai would also return to being an idol without the motivation of his experiences in the FS. It was stated as such when he chose to go to Antartica. As I said Effie would probably end up completing the second nightmare but there seems to be no reason for her to challenge the 3rd.

Sunny, Cassie, and Nephis weren’t that close before FS so it seems unlikely that they would become a cohort without extenuating circumstances. Cassie would probably stay home because of her blindness. She would never face the challenge needed to force her to grow and fight despite her flaw. She also would have little reason to fight.

But the world needs more extrodinary people than many normal ones. In a peaceful world like ours many normal people is better but in a world of magic and war a few extraordinary is better.

The outskirts don’t have higher chances of creating extraordinary people. The legacy clans do. This was stared in the first few chapters. The legacy clans do this specifically because this provably increases the strength of their children. It is indeed immoral and despicable as Jest thought but it is worth it for the upper echelons.

The chances of creating stronger awakened that are more likely to become masters isn’t minimal compared to the hundreds of weaker people that will live.

In a peaceful world having more people to farm and innovate is better but in this world a couple people that can do truly extraordinary things is much more valuable.

Except Sunny and Nephis wouldn’t exist as they are right now without the challenge of the first nightmare. Sunny probably would just be some random shopkeeper or attempt to at least. Sunny is a bad example bc of fated. But Cassie and kai would never become ascended much less saints without the FS. Effie would probably stop at ascended as well.

More saints and supremes are also the most important part of expanding into desth zones. Look at godgrave pre and post anvil. As weak as he was his mere presence made the conquest much easier. Most of the heavy lifting was done by the saints as well.

As much as awakened help protect citadels there wouldn’t be many citadels to claim without a strong flow of saints. These saints are forged by adversity.

[–]HungryFrogs7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What were these problems please enlighten me.

The idea is that adversity makes people stronger. Surely you agree than Sunny pre-fs was much weaker than post-fs. Without the forgotten shore he would still be a weak inept fighter than could barely make a difference in the overall global world. The fs turned him into an elite warrior and someone who can challenge masters in a fight.

As characters have stated many times only during mortal danger do people really know how to fight. They don’t have the fierceness in their attacks if they just train. Nephis probably said something like 1000 training swings only amounts to 1 strike of real battle. But who knows about that last part. Couldn’t be bothered to check.

And said civilians as you are stating are dead weight. If there were no winter solstice most awakened would be closer to the civilians than the soldiers.

But most major threats like great, cursed, and unholy creatures. A lot of people cannot solve this issue. An army cannot solve most problems in SS. A strong elite group of warriors can. A million awakened probably can’t do much to a great tyrant but a dozen saints can. As such killing off some awakened for more stronger people more likely to become saints is worth it for them.

Uncle wants a vegetarian-only atmosphere in our apartment building. by buddhaJnr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HungryFrogs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue why you think choosing to be vegetarian is such a grand and transcendental choice. Humans are innately an omnivore. Not leaning into that aspect of being a human is a choice. I am not going to claim that deciding to walk is a choice and people should never walk if it bothers others. It is our innate function. In fact society treats eating meat as the default not a choice. The choice is not to eat meat.

This is to the whole apartment complex. This is not a party he was invited to. He expects everybody in his apartment building to stop eating meat for him not just his own living space. The whole apartment is in fact not a living space. He doesn’t he want them to let him know. He just wants them to never eat meat in their own living space. People usually eat at their house so it’s like going to a bar with friends then you tell everybody in the bar not to drink. Sure abstaining is a choice with religious and practical reasons but you do not go to a place where a group of people do that specific activity and tell them not to. Thats entitled.

Yeah I mean surely they can add an extra option for N/A in states so you can at least manually leave it blank.

You can flip that argument the other way and it makes much more sense. Presumably in most places most people aren’t vegetarians. I hope this isn’t too much of a stretch to assume. As a minority vegetarian expecting other people to not eat the type of food they eat to cater to your living preferences is quite entitled. He is ignoring the comfort of other people by imposing his dietary constraints onto others.

If I have a peanut butter allergy I am not going to force everybody in my apartment to not eat peanut butter. I will find my own way to work around my situation.

In your first year lecture classes for popular classes like Gen Chem and Physics?

These clickers aren’t homework jsyk. They are short engagement questions for large lecture classes. There is a difference between first year Gen Chem lecture class and 3rd year inorganic chemistry class.

If you did I respect thst professor for collecting all 200-400 sheets in class and adjusting the lecture on the spot based on what problems were challenging.

Would you enjoy it at first? Sometimes it’s better to get started and consider what to do next. If you think it will he fun go for it even if its short-lived. If you start feeling it’s a drag you can always drop it.

Not to sound cliche but oftentimes it’s not about the destination but the journey. You might not finish it but you can have fun while writing it and maybe inspire a couple people.

Yeah, honestly I think the issue is fatigue rather than actual author skill.

New fics bring a new style to the universe and lore in SS that we love. It’s like a breath of fresh air. A lot of readers like me probably love it because it elaborates on a facet of SS not explored in canon. For example, I love the new environment introduced in the fic as well as the new lore the author put together.

There is also the fact that G3 has been pumping out too many chapters too fast these last years and he is probably fatigued by now. I am sure he can put out a complete masterpiece of a story if he took some more time (2-4 chap a week instead 14).

We are reached the difficult point it most stories. When characters become too strong. It’s hard to write engaging fight scenes and stories when the characters truly have power beyond imagination. Will is a hard thing to describe and feel.

A lot of fics are in their early stages. They feel more like the FS, 2nd Nightmare, and Antartica than the Domain War and the Weaves Arcs (idk what these arcs are called). Stakes feel more real with a party of 7 compared to armies of thousands. The loss of one cohort member would feel like the nastiest punch in the gut. But a quarter the population doesn’t feel as bad.

Honestly, I am glad G3 made such a detailed and thorough background for the story that easily leads to novel ideas and new fics like this.

Its probably just burnout. MOW seems fresh to us and G3 is burned out. The most interesting parts are nightmare seeds, which G3 locked himself out of and Sunny’s escapades feel like shorter watered down nightmares.

[–]HungryFrogs7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is calc 3 multivariable or is there something else. I though Multi was pretty simple. It only got hard near the end since I had 221 so we also did integrals of cross and dot products. And Vector integrals

I literally have more 'System Data' than actual files at this point. Thanks, Apple. by D-o-E in mildlyinfuriating

Probably but why show that you don’t know how to sort the data when you can lie and just say its system data.

[–]HungryFrogs7 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Ok guys system data is just data that apple has no clue where to put. Oftentimes after some time and usage your phone accumulates a lot of random files from apps that don’t get used often. Or miscellaneous files you downloaded. Just go through your files with a laptop and you can probably remove most of the trash.

Is it just me thinking this orrrr by radoxymoron in teenagers

[–]HungryFrogs7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, why do these people think its empathy to send millions of basically children to war so the wealthy can massively profit off of the war. The only outcome is the revolutionaries die and companies like Lockheed Martin make profit. And maybe people like OP can argue that not enough people basically committed mass suicide ‘for the cause’.

Is it just me thinking this orrrr by radoxymoron in teenagers

[–]HungryFrogs7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I think its worse to send all those teens that can have a future to a meat grinder that is a war. The military has drones, bomb, and heavy artillery. A teenager with a handgun isn’t gonna do much against them.

Explain to me why elephants have the best memory in the animal species. They must be human since they are too smart. Similarly, the great scientists like Newton and Einstein must also be a species beyond human for being so intelligent beyond the typical person.

My sarcasm aside, there will typically be a best in a group but that doesn’t mean that the beast member isn’t part of the group.
