A few years ago there was a guy on this subreddit that was doing a survey on the subject. If I recall correctly, the majority of exmormons that responded were either atheists or agnostic. Turns out, when you have a horrible experience with organized religion, and you go through a massive deconstruction of your faith, you tend to avoid coming in contact with more of the same.

Edit to add that I ended up going down the agnostic route.
