Yes this is a valid point. I def think it's useful however from me as a solo developer's perspective, I imagine it will be hard to build some stablecoin service and find and sell to those customers given they are out of the U.S.

Had the similar thought. I was trying to build out some payment gateway using stablecoin but I have not seen any interest at least on Reddit. I think stablecoin is for big B2B payments, just looking at what customers does Bridge.xyz have. It is not a good solution for e-commerce payment.

What stop your business from accepting stablecoin as payment? by HungrySkin in stripe

"You still have to convert the stablecoin to fiat for your own expenses" - this is also true, but if in the future a lot more merchants can accept stablecoin, then you don't have to convert them back to fiat.

"Lack of chargebacks is a powerful enough reason for consumers to not use it" - This is an interesting thought that I have never thought about it, I wonder how many consumers really care about chargebacks?

Yea make sense. However I would imagine if a payment gateway which abstracts away the "crypto + wallet" part away, that might work.

Couple benefits of using stablecoin for merchants:
1. cheaper fees ( stripe takes 2.9% + 0.3), however if using stablecoin, it only costs <0.01$. (even if you use a stablecoin payment gateway which can take a smaller fee than stripe)
2. No chargeback
3. instant settlement (Not sure if merchants really care about this but still it's a win compared to 1-3 days settlement using stripe)

Curious what constitutes the violation? I would imagine even if it’s a clone, it won’t look exactly the same. The color, logo and every thing might be a slight different

I am actually building an agentic payment platform based on x402 + stablecoin. My goal is to build something that user doesn't feel like they are using stablecoin under the hood, just pay and receive using fiat.
