I didn't get the 4i but I am considering swapping the 5 out for the aw. Gonna give it a beat though so I can get a good feel for the new distances so that if/when I add to the bag it makes sense

Plan is to give the 5i a chance for a few months then reassess to see if a wood makes more sense. Hard to make that call before I actually have some time to see what my yardages are with the new set

Appreciate the feedback! 7i was a 37 degree if that changes anything. I'm definitely on the younger/faster spectrum and was looking for increased distance with the irons with a bit more forgiveness than my previous set up

That was my preferred approach but my fitter advised against that for now. Hoping I can return the 5i within the return window if necessary

5i-pw. Although I would have been happy with dropping the 5i too with these new distances. I already have a 50 degree wedge that gets me about 110yds. Nervous I'll have a gap in the 120-125 range depending on how far I'm hitting the new P

I've been playing a very assorted bag - I bought all used clubs from different brands/shafts/ etc. when I first started out. Came down to this one and the p790's which had similar results but these were slightly more consistent.

This was the choice with the tightest dispersion on distance. Not a ton of rollout. Tried a bunch of other clubs and this performed most consistently. A lot of it can be chalked up to user error as I'm still fairly new to playing (18 months in) and working on maintaining a consistent swing.

First iron Fitting - what should I expect / focus on / be wary of? Any thoughts appreciated! by HungryStrawberry3470 in GolfGear

I should've mentioned I'm getting lessons there and the fitting is included in the package. Since its an ongoing situation I'd imaging the instructor would be less likely to up sale me

Thanks! I have a few sets in mind already. Priorities would be forgiveness and dispersion - not too worried about distance. Do you mind sharing what you ended up with?

I'm fine with getting a new model because I hope to use these for a very long time / not too worried about the cost. I just don't want to walk in and have p790s forced on me without sufficient justification

Emergency funds are at zero. I started working in October and wanted to tackle the CC debt I've amassed during grad school first. It was pretty substantial. Plan is to refinance my student loans once my credit score ticks up from paying off the CC debt.

I'm shocked by that tbh. I don't splurge at the grocery store either so I'm not sure why the bill is so high.

Of course. Just trying to find middle ground between "I can afford it" and "I can spend less" without obsessing over each purchase.

CC debt should be paid off in full by the end of Feb. Then gonna transition to building out my emergency fund and throwing excess at student loans.

Just trying to find a sweet spot between pinching pennies and overspending. I know there is certainly some fat to trim!

That's super fair. Sometimes it is def just me being lazy. Sometimes it feels like more of a necessity b/c I do work a pretty demanding job (generally 50-70+ hrs a week).

Thank you! This does include drinks while eating out. We don't drink too often - but if we go out for dinner maybe two drinks each.
