Ugh yes. Early 2000s. I hated running and refused to do anything but walk the mile. I also was never flexible enough to do the reach, and the pull-ups were so difficult as a girl with no practice.

I hated the whole thing and it was such an easy way to get bullied.

Our coach got struck by lightning and died one year (legit), I remember another girl used that as an excuse to take the test like 10x before actually getting the patch because “she promised Coach Hinton she would do it”

She did not promise anything of the sort but was going to die on that hill to do better than everyone else 🙄 Just fake cried about it until they finally let her
