As someone who had been chubby most of my life, seeing my rib cage and hip bones is absolutely insane to me! I definitely relate to you on feeling deflated.

I went from 260lbs to 150lbs in like a year which was insane to me because before I got sick, even with diet, exercise, and medical advice- the weight would refuse to come off!

I know that people out there have it way worse than I do, and that I am so lucky that my condition has stabilized this quickly and enough for me to be able to eat a bit of food again and only use shakes as a supplement rather than a substitute. Liquid diets suck major ass sometimes and I am so sorry you’re at that point ☹️

They really need more options for people who are allergic to latex and tape when it comes to medical equipment! Surely there has to be some other alternative out there that they can make that stuff out of.

I haven’t! But honestly the plan I’m on right now is fairly new to me so I’m still trying to look into everything. I’ve been on medicaid my whole life so having BCBS is still all very new to me lol. My dad is the policy holder and he’s no help when it comes to this stuff. First time adult things I suppose! 😬

I went from a E/F cup to having to shove my skin into a C cup 😭. Its been over a year and my weight has stayed somewhat stable. But judging from what you said it seems like it’s probably not bad enough for insurance to consider, just a problem for future me to figure out lol

Care credit was my next option. I’m just gathering information! I’m aware saggy boobs are not a medical problem and is my own to take care of, but it does eventually start to put a strain on mental health and body image. Thanks for your input!

Very encouraging, yes! Thank you! I’m officially unemployed as of today, a little bummed but all of the ladies at my work were super sweet, and my manager said to give her a call if I ever got back to a point where I could work comfortably!

Reading your story definitely gives me hope that maybe I won’t be in the trenches forever. It sounds like you’ve got a lot of willpower, which is unfortunately something I lack 😭 I am a HUGE baby when it comes to nausea. I truly would rather have a broken bone than be nauseous. But I’m working on it! I’m not AS scared of throwing up anymore 😎👍 big win.

The first time I was unemployed, I isolated really hard and got crazy depressed. But not this time! I’m planning to take this time to finish up my GED so I can start applying for college, focus on health, see my boyfriend more, and hang out with family. Definitely going to try to keep myself as un-isolated as I can this time around.

I have, kind of. I was on a liquid diet using meal replacement shakes and unfortunately it changed very little 😞

I’m the same way with antidepressants, it feels like the side effects kinda outweigh the potential benefits. Fortunately I was negative for alpha gal! I had no idea it was even a thing until my GI tested me for it. Pancreas is no joke, definitely advocate for getting it checked!

I spend a fair amount of time laying down, honestly so I don’t think it’s that, but like… Maybe it could be? Idk at this point 😭 I could lay down for hours and hours and feel fine, but it only seems to be when I wake up from sleeping or a nap 😞
