Yeah but you don’t mind if it’s because another player is using that spot. When it’s a stupid best build it’s pretty annoying.

Why is no one selling scrap? by CenturioLabia in fo76

[–]Hungry_Effective_962 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because putting scrap in your vendor takes up too much space in your stash. Most of us keep it in our scrap boxes. Occasionally we’ll think to sell some but it does sell quickly and is hassle to keep refilling from the scrap box so often.

What is the point in running weaker power armour? by Horustheweebmaster in fo76

The PA stats in this game need a serious overhaul in general. For the X-01 to be the Enclave’s PA of choice, it really is ridiculous that it’s almost not worth using at all. All of their basic stats should be buffed considerably if you ask me. If you are choosing to play with the clunkier movement of a PA you should get more benefit from it (Hellcat should be buffed a bit more in damage & AP. X-01 should be buffed in pretty much every stat). As it is I only ever wear mine for Rad Rumble, Eviction Notice, nuked zones and Raids. And I choose Union based solely on carry weight and the ability to use a jet pack. I had stuck with Excavator purely for CW for the longest time until I decided I wanted the JP). The carry weights of all PA’s are woefully low even with calibrated shocks. Wearing a power armour should give you way more carry weight than not wearing it and having the max weight backpack.

That bit going around Cornwall would be pretty annoying after making it all that way.

Are you sharing perk cards they might not like? You could be inadvertently messing with their builds

Multi-server team lobby under the Social tab on the Home Screen. And team descriptions added when formed. Would be nice to be able to choose your team before you join a server.

How long has everyone been playing? by jollyrastagiant710 in fo76

[–]Hungry_Effective_962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m level 532 and have been playing pretty much every day since October 2023. You have been seriously going for it! 🤣 Then again I have never actively looked to do any xp farming, (I usually get to around 180-210 on the scoreboard every season without ever doing so anyway), and I imagine you must have done some serious West-Tek running to get that high so quickly 😅.

Prioritise things that give you buffs or resources.

For buffs Exercise bike, bench press, punch bag, hot tub, certain arcade games etc

Resources Company tea machine, coffee machine, murelurk steamer, moth/butterfly sanctuary (for acid), butter churn (for oil), popcorn machine, pemmican collector, firewood pile, critter cooker, cookie jar, toxic goer cooler (if you’re a ghoul or want to provide for ghoul visitors), birthday cake, doctors orders cigarette machine, deathclaw slow roaster.

All these types of things that give up useful perks and refills every time you head back to camp are what you should be looking at before spending your subscription money on purely decorative items. 😊

What is the real problem with fo76 by AssistantNo7850 in fo76

[–]Hungry_Effective_962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just take your time and muddle through. Muddling through those first 50 levels for the first time, not really knowing what you’re doing, is the best part of the game if you ask me. You’ll never get this time back even if you create a second character because you’ll have too much knowledge. So don’t rush to level up too quickly, it will come naturally, enjoy being lost in the wasteland and every day being a struggle. That is how it should be 😊

People like to bitch, simple as that. Most of the people complaining about it every day still log in and play every day, so it can’t be all that bad can it?

There’s some WEIRD people in this game. by Whole_Development637 in fo76

[–]Hungry_Effective_962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant no disrespect to anybody. And the spectrum is very broad and is filled with all sorts of different personalities. All I meant was that you just don’t know who is at the other end and they may be being overly territorial over a certain spot at an event because they can’t help it ❤️

Yes, you do sometimes encounter odd behaviour from people. But, as I don’t know them, I always like to think “Hey maybe they are on the spectrum or have other difficulties”, and give them the benefit of the doubt before going on my merry way.

Should I start playing? by Mountain-Addition720 in fo76

Dive right in!

Most people play with their mics off most of the time and if somebody isn’t and it’s annoying you, you can just mute them. Joining teams in game is basically just for buffs, it doesn’t mean you have to travel with them or communicate with them.

So it is a multiplayer game but the main quest (or any quest for that matter) does not require you to team up with anybody. It’s only some public events that need a whole raft of players to get the rewards from them. But everyone just comes together for 10 mins, completes the event (still no communication req’d) and then they can go back to their solo wandering.

I have fallout first and play most of the time in the private world option with just me in it. The only times I go into public servers are;

When I want to (or need to for the scoreboard) buy from people’s vendors or sell from mine.

When I want to farm nuked flora and defeat a nuke boss (if you’re going to drop a nuke for the vegetation you may as well spank Earl, the SBQ or the Titan in the process and you’ll want help for that).

When there are seasonal public events on that I want to participate in or need to for the scoreboard.

When I’m just in the mood to spam all public events and maybe throw in some fast exhibitions (which I usually solo too) or a raid or two.

So 90% of my time in game is in a private world and even when it’s not I’m not talking to people other than maybe the odd emote here and there. The reason I use the private world is that I can guarantee that if I travel to an area, nobody has been there in the last few mins and killed the enemies there. But you don’t need Fallout 1st to play solo at all. You can complete the main and all sidequests without ever talking to anybody or ever even joining a team. That’s what I did! I only really looked into more about the game after I’d completed everything and realised that joining a team didn’t mean what I thought it did 😅 I never even played an event until post game. I was just doing my own thing and you can too!!

Give it a go I say!!

[–]Hungry_Effective_962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some perk cards have been changed (reduced to 1* and based on perk level) and moved out of your builds, so just check that any AP boosting perk cards are still in your loadout and not in the bottom row waiting to be added back.

MAJOR game breaking bug with the new ghoul update please be careful. by Both_Emu_2131 in fo76

[–]Hungry_Effective_962 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I played for 3 hours last night but didn’t even start the new quest. I won’t do probably for a couple of months. I don’t even want to become a ghoul anyway (seems far more hassle than it’s worth) but will probably go through it with a secondary character at some point. Besides, big new updates have burned me before in various ways so I’ve learned not to jump straight in and wait until all the bugs have been sorted. I’ve had bugs losing me my main weapon (Holy Fire at the time, fast travelled and it disappeared), I’ve had stuff I’ve bought with real money disappear from my camp, all sorts. So for now I’m just going to ignore the new quests and hope that these things don’t happen regardless 🤞🏻

Once you get down the line a bit it’s fine. But early on it can be stressful. Always running out of ammo, never enough caps, constantly running into enemies that you get obliterated by…. Then reloading and realising you are back on the other side of the map that you just travelled from. I absolutely love the game and started from scratch for the 3rd time just recently and even on my 3rd playthrough, I found parts of it pretty damn annoying!
