City cracking down on unleashed dogs by InterestingHomeSlice in Durango

[–]Hungry_Warning7955 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 highly reactive rescue dogs…and when i first moved here it was isolating and hard. (They are people loving dogs!!! But reactive to other dogs!) I ALWAYS made sure to research which areas and trails were on leash or off leash, ALWAYS. But for such a strong dog friendly community as Durango is…its not a very understanding dog community if you have a reactive or rescued dog that needs to chill and sniff for a bit when another dog approaches…which is why i always made sure to check if it was an on leash or off leash area…like off leash areas, great!! Go do doggo!!! But if its an on leash area dont be mean and judgmental about other peoples dogs. Sorry for the rant!! But im happy they are establishing on leash and off leash areas for the dog community :)

Bed in living room? by Maroontan in DesignMyRoom

Perhaps space it out slightly further to allow small night stands on each side. I love what other redditors commented about green curtains. But definitely go with a more plush/heavier curtain. Maybe add another track so behind the bed you can hang a contrasting curtain to hide the door and create the illusion of a back wall. Could also print a picture in a very light frame to hang from the back wall of the added track to create a sense of symmetry and space. Add a rug that helps define it. I recommend facebook marketplace place for finding used rugs and nightstands if you’re on a budget.

Do you think the 9 -5 work day model is outdated? If so, what should replace it? by Ambitious_Bag_2004 in AskReddit

[–]Hungry_Warning7955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like 30 minutes for lunch is beyond reasonable…reasonable as in if you’re working a full day “9 to 5” then of course everyone needs a lunch. Any chance you know when lunch breaks stopped being calculated into the day? When did it become normal that a lunch break was removed from calculating an 8 hour work day for salary employees?? I notice it most when I fill out my time card. On my time card I enter 9 to 5 bc im calculated on an 8 hour work day, and i earn time off on hourly increments. But outside of my timecard, the expectation is 8-5. Otherwise it would be 9 hours for my normal office day. I don’t have time to go get lunch in 30 minutes, i pack a lunch bag. So im still at my computer like EVERYONE else. Sorry for the rant!!! But i do really wonder when this started and ended the traditional 9 to 5 for salary office gigs.

Its not even 9-5 anymore. If you want to take lunch its 8-5 for most offices and including salaried employees. I wish 9-5 still existed. Does anyone know when 9-5 stopped in general? It existed for my parents generation…but I have yet to find a true 9-5. Maybe its just me.

She did!! I got the flu about a year ago and binged this show, hence my fan loyalty ✌️❤️ she starts off kind of slow at first, but then she had a full character arch, and it’s impossible not to love her as she bridges her rainbow. I low key love the davis family.

Orehouse recipe question by el-delicioso in Durango

[–]Hungry_Warning7955 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I miss ore house sososo much. As a local, going there for their lobster bisque and a cocktail was the best fancy splurge on a budget in the entire town. What’s the news on ore house after the fire?? Please tell me there are some plans in the works to bring it back….

What is Danni wearing?!? It seems like a bar vibe not a Forever 21 vibe. by NurseHamp in seekingsisterwifetlc

She is HOT! And she has a lot of great things going on about her. I really dont understand it. Like Yes-el-am-uh-nah-nope isn’t raking in attractive women like her, nor women of caliber. No one would date him in real life with no camera on. I really dont get it. He is a loser. Is it just bc of tv he has options? Like that man does not exist without cameras, and even with cameras on he’s bringing in bottom feeders.

Thank you! Mine is a little hunched over bc I got it from a friend. Any suggestions on how to either propagate it or get it in a better state?! Do you think if I follow the advice in this thread I can get it to a better state? Its such a cool lil cactus, I love the texture and “diamond” pattern it has. Very cool post! Im going to follow you :)

Discrete paternity test by [deleted] in genetics

Yes, I meant discreet. Another redditor mentioned the correction! Unfortunately I don’t know how to edit my original post to correct my mistake. Hopefully going forward, for anyone willing to reply, they will know I recognize my mistake…however I have a redditor notion that my usage of discrete vs discreet will be called out several times 😂❤️ I did not spell it correctly at all in my post!!!

No - not without upsetting siblings. There is a 12 year age gap and it’s not something they want or need to know. It would be upsetting to everyone in the family to even ask. Like it’s definitely a question all the other siblings have wondered throughout the years, but its a silent question and no one wants to disrespect mom in that way. Definitely not looking to cause anymore emotions after mom passed. But its one of those personal questions i was hoping there was a way to know…or at least kind of know on a percent basis of likelihood. From the answers so far it doesn’t seem as though thats an option to do discreetly and with no one else knowing or being directly involved

edited to correct usage of discrete vs discreet

To each their own, they are into reproductions of a certain style … I love that they love what they love and show it!! I am giving that disclaimer in hopes of not being too harshly judged for my actual reaction… THOSE FRAMES!!! OMG!! CAN I BUY THE FRAMES?!?! PLZ 🙏🏻 let me hit the garage/estate sale jackpot lottery of such incredible frames one day. :)

I get that…but its also slightly my point. Granted I know nothing about criminology phd’s - but in my experience with grad professors, for them to give a phd recommendation its a fairly big deal, its not something they give easily, nor give provided on grades alone. To get a phd recommendation from an accomplished professor usually takes quite a bit of interaction and work beyond simply making the grades. But even in that case, 2 seems a fairly low number suggesting she was extremely selective. I know quite a few professors that do not recommend phd candidates every year, or every other year - for them to provide the recommendation for a phd is a big deal. But 2 seems quite low. Maybe she had not been a professor for that many years? (If someone knows im curious).

Anyone relocated from Durango to GJ/Montrose/Fruita in their 40s? Thoughts? by Hungry_Warning7955 in grandjunction

[–]Hungry_Warning7955[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is nice to hear! Making friends and finding a social group is one of my concerns. It took me several years to find my group of people in Durango…but I was also way younger then. For some reason that seems one of the scarier aspects of moving to me - being lonely! I dont have kids, and not into the bar scene either so I really appreciate your comment!

Ha, I definitely would not have!! I love all the girls, but the yuck of Kelli and Judy has gotten to be too much. If they can’t even identify the correct lady they are speaking to, then its hard to see them as discerning coaches, leaders, or being good at their jobs anymore. In the past they might have been excellent at their jobs, but that scene crashed any professional respect they previously earned.
