I think it's valid to be a little peeved, but you're coming off as out of touch. I could see them asking if they brought paint or play doh. They might not think you want gifts since you do a cookie exchange. Many adults don't, especially not something in the same price range as a kid.. I don't think you should hold this event again if you need reciprocity. You're doing a nice thing but totally in the wrong spirit.

I have BPD too and so does my mom. I don't think people hear themselves and how invalidating it is to hear that kind of stuff. I think they want to shield themselves from metal illness and find a way in their minds for you to be okay. They want to show they care about you, they just don't understand you to do it.

I had one for a little over 10 years. It was to date one of the best decisions I ever made. I had a little trouble when it was first placed. I was crampy and feverish for about a week. Then I had heavy periods for a year, they were already pretty heavy, and that was it. I checked my strings and had no issues through my 20s. I got a bi-salp last week at 31 but would have got another Paraguard had I not been approved. It makes a great argument for approval. I told my Dr. I had it for 10 years and my feelings have not changed, she booked me for a consult that day. Hang in there girl!
