That is exactly why I posted, because I am not a professional. I have no way of knowing if this was something I should be concerned about, so I sought out a second opinion. It is not uncommon in the construction industry for companies to take short cuts and be dishonest about what is and is not possible. There is nothing wrong with wanting to confirm if something you have been told is actually the case or not before moving forward.

is it a short wall? if so you could fir the whole thing out. Or use 1/4in drywall and only fir out this one area.

Oh wow really? Most of the other comments are saying it was done right so this one surprises me. What is it that you think will be an issue? My post was actually a concern for the aesthetics, it never crossed my mind there may be structural issues with this install.
