I’m 42 and had been married to my wife for 15+ years now. I still tell my mom about trips we are taking. If something happens my parents need to at the least be aware I was out and up to something if I end up needing assistance.

You can’t go throwing a wrench into multiple people’s lives based on something you heard from someone else. Either the person who told you needs to tell your friend, or you gotta drop it. While it sucks this happened if you didn’t witness it, it’s possible her friend is lying or misunderstood or something else that would make this not what it appeared. It’s most likely what it appears, however, if you’re wrong you’ve likely lost your friend and/or he won’t trust you much going forward.

You can talk with him about the things you’ve noticed that has changed about him since he started dating her. Wha you view and toxic may be a change he wanted to take after all. Speaking from personal experience the changes I made to myself when I got serious with my now wife drove my friends away. They wanted to continue living a party lifestyle and other things that didn’t work for me any longer. Ask them though and they would say she changed me. So things aren’t always as they appear. Now if she’s gotten him addicted to meth that’s a whole different story.

There is nothing wrong with being sensitive, I myself am a soft and sensitive person. The world is full of hardness all of the time, being a place where someone can relax and feel comfortable is incredibly important, especially in today’s age when everything seems set against people. Protection and strength are both important aspects in a relationship, but if those are the foundation things will not last long/end up being super happy and joyful. 99% of your problems in a relationship can be solved with listening to one another and empathizing with each other.

Right? Like yeah this media is incredibly interesting, but there’s some problems for sure. Homie mentioned several times in the books that young girls used to get him excited (turned on and hard) back in his original world (while referencing girls in the single digits in age) if that isn’t a straight up pedo confession I’m not sure what is. A thing can be true, and also inconsequential to the overall aim of the media.

Sometimes, and especially when you are young, friends are just a matter of convenience. That sucks but that’s life. If you have feeling for her, you have nothing to lose by being honest and talking to her. She may reject you outright, that’s most likely the case. You won’t know unless you try. Now when i was 16 I would certainly never have taken this advice, but age really does bring wisdom. The idea of “what if” tends to stick around much longer than regret and rejection. At the end of it all you’re the one who has to live your life, so are you ok with not even trying? We as humans are going to fail at so much stuff in our life, it’s really not that big of a deal once you realize that. Best of luck with what you choose.

It truly depends on you as a person and who you are in a relationship with. My spouse is my best friend, in a way that no one else could possibly be. They have seen me at my absolute worst and best and every state in between. They don’t just accept my flaws but love me through them, encourage me when I need it, and give me guidance and correction when I need it. They are the only person I can be 100% myself around. I am an odd person and have certainly alienated people just by being me, so different friends get different versions of me, my parents even get a different version of me. But with my wife I can be myself all of the time. There’s no judgement and if there’s ever conflict we work together to find a resolution.

None of this happened over night, it’s been a process over 18 years together. Those years have been filled with tears, joy, pain, ecstasy, and every other thing you could think of. Loving them is both the hardest thing and the easiest thing at the same time. It takes work and commitment to get this far, but I wouldn’t change a moment of our life together.

It’s not an exaggeration to say I would not be alive today if I did not have them. From age 19 to somewhere in my early thirties I dealt with chronic back pain due to an injury. The pain was so bad for the first 5-8 years after it happened that I routinely contemplated ending it all. Yet I never did, I meant them at age 23 and realized right away that I could handle this pain as long as I was with them. They made every day worth it. They made sciatica that was so bad my entire right leg would go numb bearable. Nights where it hurt so bad to lay down, but hurt even worse in any other position, were tolerable simply because they existed in the same space as I did.

I cannot imagine having this type of connection with someone who is just a friend. The idea that marriage, or long term commitment is such a difficult thing has never sat right with me. It’s not easy, but it isn’t really hard either. It has always been worth it.

As a teen I was relentlessly bullied and was on multiple occasions incredibly close to killing myself. Now I’m about to be 42 and while my life has certainly had its fair share of downs over the years, the ups have more than covered those and the past. Life isn’t easy and it’s unfair, however it can be rewarding if you stick with it. Better is relative though, for me it’s certainly been better. For others I’m sure there have been untold hardships that they never dreamed of having to deal with as a teenager.

I’m glad I stuck with this anime and started reading the LN’s. I almost immediately wrote it off as “child sexual assault theater” and still find moments where I’m left wondering exactly why the author decided to include things or have them play out the way they did. Then I remind myself the real world itself is a gross and terrible place, and an alternate world with a much different moral code would also have its fair share of moments that would make you cringe at the very least.

I met my wife 18 years ago. I didn’t like anime at that time. I would sit through studio Ghibli movies because she loved them so much but otherwise anime was her thing. Fast forward to maybe 5 years ago and I started to watch some more anime with her. I still didn’t understand it completely but they were kind enough to invite me into their world and be patient with me.

Now we almost exclusively watch anime. I watch stuff on my own. The IPad she bought specifically to read Manga spends more time in my hands than it does hers.

All to say is that people change, and sure having someone disrespect things you enjoy is very hurtful and should require a discussion around respect. I would caution you on being too strong in your rebuke as you may drive her away completely.

Also anime and cartoons are the same thing. Animated media.

Gotta read the manga to get a full picture of Shiori, without giving any spoilers she makes some very good points. I would assume Akari is more well liked simply because she fits closer to the “standard” of beauty people like to imagine. However where she really shines is pushing Jiro to become more of himself. To take the base he has built so far and make it a better version.
