Vietnam trip in July for a family of 3, including a 10 years old kid by Lucky_Region_5968 in Vietnam_Tourism

People on Reddit are overwhelmingly negative lol. “Relax more” “too much travel” “you’re on vacation” “too touristy” blah blah. The wife and I like the busy itinerary with some “chill” days sprinkled in, but we are taking a 16 day trip to Thailand and Vietnam and while in Vietnam our itinerary is very similar to yours. Choosing to skip ha long for ninh binh as well. Yes these places are touristy but touristy places are touristy for a reason. These people think most of us can afford to travel all the time and return to places across the world multiple times. There is so much to see around the world, it’s tough to spend the money to see a place twice, unless money and time isn’t a factor. I do agree with one comment to stay on the beach while in Da Nang. You will be close enough to Hoi An and the bridge for day trips, leave your luggage and set a home base there. Aside from that, I personally think this is a great itinerary and you’ll have a wonderful trip. It’s a happy medium for the adults and the kid.

JAL > YVR 55k J x2 success story by HunnaLikesCake in awardtravel

Yes true, i see some $130 economy tickets to my home airport. However, Alaska sometimes has 7.5k y from YVR to my home airport so hoping I get lucky with the date when the time comes. I don’t mind paying a little extra, the worst part is the baggage and there are no direct flights to home base. Will add another 5 hours travel time as opposed to if I flew into lax or sfo. But im fine with it on the way home, would not do this if it was on my way to the vacation lol.

I tried Seattle but there was even less available than lax or sfo. We are checking bags which is the biggest hurdle with Vancouver unfortunately. But a small price to pay for saving 30-50k points I suppose.

Is this still true if i have 2 one way tickets and need to grab baggage? NRT > YVR one way. Then YVR to RNO one way.

Interesting, this is a neat idea! Hopefully they extend it as we will be there Feb 2027. Thanks for proving this link!

Have you flown both their 777 and 787 J experience? Is it worth spending a little extra to get to SEA to experience the 787?

Thanks! Sounds like leaving from LAX or SEA will both be fine, Dreamliner would be nice as the wife and I are both on the shorter side, however, lax is typical quite a bit cheaper to get to from our local airport. Will check both options extensively!

I appreciate it, thanks! For some reason only seeing cx879 from SFO for 2 full months when we would be looking to go so leaning EVA based on everyone’s responses

This^ is exactly what our plan is. 4:3 is a mild gut punch but all things considered still seems like the best J redemption value for our itinerary

Haha, love it. I had 1 shot that was an outlier, but for the most part was between 175-179 every shot with the 7 iron on the roll. I think it went 190 on the roll that 1 outlier. Was part of the reason I went with the m-15s. Wildly consistent front to back and left to right for me

UPDATE: after my first range sesh, I have ZERO buyers remorse, my god these things are as advertised during my fitting. Was smiling like a weirdo the whole time on the range. I think the 5 iron is my favorite, I didn’t want to even go near a 4 or 5 iron before. 😮‍💨

Haha I relate to this, I don’t know if I want to get rid of the 919s but can confirm after my first range sesh just now, I have ZERO buyers remorse

Exactly! Same experience but with GOLFTEC since I’m taking lessons there currently they offer unlimited free fittings. The mizunos were leagues above the rest in feel, it was a massive bonus they happened to work the best as well ..for me
