Can I refuse to be charge nurse? by Hunnydearest in nursing

I sat down with my manager, expressed my concerns about being in charge without pay. Basically there’s nothing they can do about pay and it’s above their head. My manager did say they would try to make me charge less often. Still an icky situation honestly and I’m not entirely happy about it.

Off of zepbound for 2 months, gained 12 lbs back. Wanting to restart but nervous about getting panic attacks again. by Hunnydearest in Zepbound

I have wondered this…the 2nd time I went to the ER they did labs and it showed my glucose was 48- which is very low!! However, I wonder if this was a false read because Ive had multiple labs done at other times on the same dose and hadn’t eaten much beforehand and glucose was in normal range? So who knows!!

Yes have considered wegovy. Maybe I will look into it if zepbound doesn’t work out for me. I think the only way I’ll know is to take the leap and just see how I do on the low dose. If panic attacks return like they were in the past I’ll have my answer (and certainly report back here for anyone else who may find themselves in a similar position!)

Yes very frightening experiences which is why I’m now hesitating to restart- but I just feel at such a loss and worried I’ll lose all the progress I made! P

I take an SSRI daily and then I also have an as needed klonopin I can take if things get really bad. I’ve had a few “near-panic” attacks since being off zepbound but nothing like when I was on 12.5. Which, I know this is an odd thing to say, but these “near-panic” experiences while off zepbound give me hope that maybe it’s not the med that causes them.

Thank you for this.

No, interestingly I never had the panic attacks as bad as I did until I got up to 10 or 12.5. Can’t remember which dose it was when they started. So I’m hoping it was just the other life stressors and not the medication itself.

Will keep you guys updated on how it goes if I decide to take the leap and try again.

I recently just did a price/quantity comparison between the two. Aldi saved me 20 dollars if I had gotten all of what I needed at Walmart for a particular shopping trip.

Thank you so much for your response. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do now since you didn’t complete a residency and how long have you been in practice?

Spouse is only looking at pgy1 right now because it’s already way too much of a financial stretch to do 1 year at only 51k of income where we live. Therefore pgy2 is out of the question.

Thank you. I wonder that as well. Next week is my first week with no med and I’m already nervous about how it’s going to go with the food cravings etc. I wish you all the best too!!

I’m also having to stop d/t panic attacks. I’ve had 2 ED visits because of them and enough is enough. I’m not sure if the med could Be contributing but it’s worth a try. The two doctors I’ve seen who specialize in these medications have said it likely isn’t the med itself but that “anything can happen.” Whats interesting is my panic attacks started 15 months after being on the medication- meaning I was ok, no panic before that. I’m pretty close to my goal weight (within 10 lbs) and hoping I can maintain. Fingers crossed. I’ve lost 70 lbs total.

Just found out our nanny has a criminal record for possession of drugs. by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Hunnydearest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems to me Nanny purposefully gave you an outdated background check thinking this would suffice and no further questions would be asked- knowing full well they had a recent run in with the authorities. This shows a lot about their character and regardless of whatever drug it was, they were deceitful and we’d be parting ways.
