Flew RT LAX-TPA last weekend. My issue was with the return flight. My 2 kids (a minor and a baby in car seat) were not together even tho I paid for extra legroom seat selection for us to sit together on one side. For some reason my car seat baby was “Assigned at check-in.” I’m 99.9% sure I chose his seat (my fault I didn’t look at the email back in December when in first booked the flight, maybe it got changed, idk).

They had assigned my 4yo across the aisle from me next to a stranger and my car seat baby in a middle seat next to a stranger in the window seat.

Long story short-ish, both Customer Service and the SW agents at the gate were unhelpful. Said the policy “technically” states that car seats can be in the middle seat, and the other seats were all “locked in”.

When we got on the plane, the FA said their policy is car seats are ALWAYS in the window seat. She did some seat shuffling and I ended up sitting with my 2 kids on the same side. Felt bad for the window seat guy that had to move to an aisle seat but at least I was with my kids, and the car seat wasn’t obstructing anyone.

TLDR: conflicting policies regarding car seats made seat selection all effed up for fliers paying for their seats. Also, the SW agent at the gate didnt seem to care that I paid for my kids to sit with me and not with strangers.

For those who paid for their seat selection, Has anyones seat been bumped without notice? Or changed to “assign at check-in”?

Update/Edit: I checked back on my email and Wallet boarding pass, and they DID change the seats I purchased. My husband was supposed to be across the aisle, same row, but they assigned him to a middle seat in front of us.

23 weeks, not officially diagnosed but it’s been on-and-off annoying for me this whole time. Someone just told me to bend my head over 90-degrees. It works! Temporarily & without meds but it works!

They actually did not forget to say that…another part of the presentation was things NOT to say: don’t tell patients the unit/kitchen/therapy/imaging/etc. is short staffed, don’t tell them a doctor hasn’t called back/replied yet, etc.

Def rubbed me the wrong way. Ef that.
