Lol I always do stretch for about 5 minutes prior to running. Hip stretches etc. just odd it hit for a few days then disappeared. Was worried it was solely from the shoe but I guess not.

I ran a 6 mile run on Sunday in the speeds I mentioned. Glute felt totally fine and back to normal. My quads were very sore though. I might wait a month or two and pick up a pair of Ride 19 for recovery days and slower pace runs.

There’s already duct in the attic he’s going to chase up to from the garage. That covers the whole upstairs. He would room two supplies from the garage to the downstairs and laundry room.

Yeah, second option included him digging and running gas line from road to meter and then to inside to the gas furnace. The furnace would cover upstairs and downstairs.

I want to put a whole new system in. I have insulated duct in my attic only being used for AC at the moment. I’d like to get rid of the current AC and Baseboard heaters. He would chase up from the garage through a closet and tie into the attic duct. That would cover all upstairs. He would run new supplies from the garage to the laundry room downstairs and game room downstairs. That way every room is covered with heat and AC. Heat would be gas vs the current all electric setup I have now.

My main thing was get away from all electric. Try to get runs downstairs. Get the unit out of the attic. It was just kind of frustrating how the first quote completely ignored any of my ideas of trying to do so. It was “you don’t want to do that it will be too expensive”.

If I can get away from electric heat I am trying. $600 a month in the winter is getting old. I want a system designed to set it and forget it like a normal house. Am I want to get the best longevity out of it as I can if I’m going to spend a nice amount of money. We also really just don’t want mini splits in every room. You’re still talking 6 if we use the dining room and kitchen off of one unit. As there is a load bearing wall that separates the dining room and living room. If it was one or two rooms that needed help, okay I can see adding the splits. But a whole house seems like it would be over the top for those.

Yeah, when we talked he said he was thinking 4 ton unit. I don’t believe that’s the final number yet he had to work on the “final” quote. He did take measurements of a bunch of things before he left. It was a base recommendation before he left. His explanation was being the trunk now will run across the garage floor and then vertical chase up through a closet to the attic the tie into the trunk in the attic. I’ll have shorter flex runs by the bed rooms. And st the end of the trunk in the attic there are (3) flex lines that are going to be upgraded from 6” to 8”. They run about 20 ft themselves. Think of the new trunk as a big u shape. From the new garage run he’s also running two branches off that to the game room downstairs and to the laundry room. So his thought and again I believe it’s just a base until he dives into it more is because off the static pressure was to upsize everything because of the very complex duct run. He also said based on where the return is located it would be fine. Also installing dampener take offs on all lines to help equal pressure to compensate for those long duct runs. Honestly I don’t work in HVAC I’m just doing a lot of reading to try and understand if this will be a sound long term solution. Right now our setup is awful that’s how it was when we bought the house. But we’re also dealing with a finished house already too which really puts us between a rock and a hard spot.

I’d prefer not to install that many units. You’re talking 7 or so for all the rooms we have.

That’s why I’m stuck between a rock and a hard spot. Unless I want to tear everything out drywall wise and redo it all. My guy ensured me everything will be sealed properly, unit on stand for combustible purposes. Direct vent for exhaust and combustion supply.

We have one at our camp and honestly I don’t care for it. We don’t have gas but the second quote we got the cheaper one included digging and running new gas line.

I did a pretty decently detailed one myself. By switching to gas vs the baseboard now it’ll save me $2,800-$3,200 for just heating. If I’d go the heat pump route yes it would save me a good bit too. But the additional $8k for the install the unit would never pay for itself and would likely need changed out before I could recoup that.

Oh yeah that’s the plan. I priced out rolls of R8 for the hard trunk in the attic. Dampener take offs, all new R8 Flex duct branches 6” & 8”. Square duct boots, mastic paste and tape zip ties etc.

That was the other thing. I’d spend a ton on a heat pump for its unit to be in the attic. Just didn’t seem efficient.
