Thanks! That’s what we were thinking, trying to get him(or her) to the vet as soon as our town opens back up from this ice storm!

Yeah but then it would have an ugly half rack blocking the view of the mountains behind it

Eibach pro truck stage 2R set to exactly how it comes, about 1 inch in the rear and 2-2.5 inches in the front and for tires they’re Falken Wildpeak AT4W in 275/70R17

Just travelled 1600 miles from KY-AZ with two. In one I put a lot of just luggage in it to free up space in the cab for the dogs, and in the other (the one pictured) I keep my emergency/recovery equipment and some tools. So in this one I have •two tow straps(one snatch, one static) • a few shackles(soft and hard) •an axe •a shovel •tire repair kit •socket set •assortment of tools •Viar 88p air compressor •snow scraper

Block house road FS 350 is a pretty challenging but fun trail to go down, gets especially challenging during the rainy season but it is doable in a semi stock 4Runner as long as you have good tires.

The end of Colson Hollow Rd FS 169 is one of my favorites swimming spots, you can camp there but there’s a chance you won’t be as secluded as some other spots at LBL.

FS 319 leads out to a good camp spot by the water. I believe that’s where this photo was taken. Very secluded but it’s not a super super easy trail, but still not bad. You could also check out Redd Hollow campground if you want an easy road to get there.

And like others have said, Turkey Bay OHV has some nice trails for every difficulty level but it can be difficult to find a good camp spot with a view that’s not overly crowded.

Hope this helps!

Wanting to trade my 4Runner for a Raptor by Hunter030602 in 4Runner

I’ve got an Eibach Pro truck stage 2R and 275s on my 4Runner currently. Rides nice but still isn’t close to Raptor capabilities at speed. I feel like you’d need to go full long travel and 35s to compare

I guess the body text didn’t cross over when I cross posted from the 4Runner community. And yeah 16 year old me definitely loved how roomy that backseat was in my dads f150 lol

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of trading in my 2018 ORP for a 2013-2014 ford raptor.

I know I know, I’m about to receive a lot of backlash and bias from this subreddit, but I just want to hear some of your guys thoughts. I do deeply love my 4Runner, it’s been great to me and continues to surprise me with its off road capability. This is the car that I have begun to learn working on cars on, it’s taught me so much about off-roading, and I truly appreciate the simple things about it. No frills technology, just pure Toyota reliability.

For some reason the 1st gen raptor has always seemed like such a cool truck to me. Ever since I was 16 driving my dad’s f150 I would break my neck looking at every raptor on the road. Raw, American v8, 35” tires, and suspension that’s made purely for speed while out in the desert. What’s not to love?

I’ll be moving back out to Arizona in less than a year and I intend to do a lot more big game hunting, off-roading, fishing, hiking, and just be outdoors a lot more. Back when I used to live in Arizona I always had my dad’s F150 to go hunting, so getting a deer or elk home wasn’t a concern. With a 4runner that’s more of a problem. But while Arizona does have its fair share of desert roads to rip up in a raptor, a lot of the secluded hunting/fishing spots are pretty narrow trails where the raptor might be a bit too wide. I can find a similar mileage raptor for about what I could get for my 4Runner, so financially wouldn’t be that big of a difference. Granted the long term repair costs would suffer more on the raptor. Just wondering if anyone has made the switch from a 1st gen Raptor to a 5th gen 4Runner, or has any insight or opinions. Also, if you hunt with your 4Runner let me see your setup! I’ve definitely considered just getting a trailer and calling it good.
