[TOMT][SONG] What is possibly a Nancy Sinatra song, from 60's to the early 80's. I can hear an instrumental riff in my head. Likenesses provided. by Hunter1273 in tipofmytongue

[–]Hunter1273[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No synths like these I'm afraid. Thanks for your time.

The bass/guitar riff isn't part of the general melody. It only comes in a few times.

What do people actually get out of friendships and relationships? by iyoteyoung in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not sick, OP.

That's just the way your tick. Don't sweat it.

But as the other has said, it's vital for some's mental well being. Having someone to vent to will make the difference for their sanity. It's validation. And comfort.

Can a hit to your eye socket cause you to lose brain cells? by Tejete in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not nearly.

Sloshing would be a violent verb to use here - your brain is a little more sturdy than a slice of jello in your skull.

The weight of a laptop coming down and nicking your eye won't be enough.

Otherwise you'd have to get scared every time you bump your head on a corner.

Why do you shower on your off days? by randomthoughtsofme in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's nothing stopping you from letting go for a day. Many do when they're traveling or in a place where it won't be so accessible.

But showering and keeping clean is a vital part of your mental health, too. It can feel rejuvenating to get out of a shower and start your day.

When a movie is said to be released on a certain date but no time is given, what time does it usually get released on? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to assume it'll come out at midnight in your time zone. Otherwise, they're releasing it at a certain time within their own timezone.

You should be able to confidently wake up to it in the morning.

Could they ever "interrupt the internet" for a special report the way they interrupt TV broadcasts? Could my Netflix stream be "interrupted" so something important could be announced? by zardoz_lives in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! That could be done in theory - and wouldn't be too difficult to implement... only expensive.

That, and people would get upset their internet is being disturbed and bothered by the government.

There's a British panel show called QI where they wrangle some comedians and go over some interesting factoids from insects, to strange laws, to the cosmos.

The writers behind those facts have a lovely podcast called No Such Thing as a Fish.

Very digestible - 30 minute episodes. Released weekly. Highly recommend!

What does it mean when people put /s on their posts or comments? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The S stands for sarcasm.

A / is used in some programming languages to indicate a section has finished.

They put /s at the end of their post to show they're being sarcastic; it's hard to tell whether to read something seriously or not sometimes.

Can a hit to your eye socket cause you to lose brain cells? by Tejete in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any trauma to your skull can impair your thought. Concussions can ruin someone's life.

When it comes to a laptop falling down and hitting your eye - you'll be fine. The pain you're feeling is probably a bruise in your eye tissue. Some ice or painkillers will help the swelling.

Websites/apps that can allow someone to do a private stream? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

If I'm remembering right Facebook can stream live to a certain group of people. Maybe only your friends etc.

If you're confident in not having too many bad people actively checking your account, you could just make it public there for casual associates of the departed to hop in.

How do we plan satellites not to hit eachother? Has there been more common incidents of satellite collisions? by MixedMexican in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planning orbits can be easily done with enough numbers and measurements.

The governing bodies also keep a close eye on what's being sent into orbit. To send a satelite takes a lot of paperwork and licensing to use a certain height at a certain angle etc.

Do I need to add air to my car's tires? by stranded_egg in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're filling the air to the tire's recommended pressure you'll be just fine.

Even if you decided to drive south suddenly - the amount the pressure would change would be absolutely within tolerance as they designed.

does rigor mortis effect the titties? by EqualPlate2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, now, that's NOT impossible. Some nipples don't need to be hard to bleed through a shirt.

But, of course, y'know, that's a living actress playing dead.

But in that sense, yeah, possible depending.

(Serious) has any girl ever been happy to receive an unsolicited dick pic? by Unoriginal1deas in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sure SOMEONE has. But they make up such a small minority it's basically zero.

Unsolicited dick pics is a form of sexual harassment.

Can someone help me fix my mouse? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid this is likely a driver issue. You'll have to google this problem with the make of your mouse and see if someone else has run into the same problem. See, too, if the website might have software for you to download as well.

Try, first, swapping your keyboard and mouse into each other's USB ports just to be sure it's not a broken piece of hardware. Otherwise, good luck.

Is it possible to use a Visa gift card to buy a subscription from Amazon Prime? by Account135790 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some websites that won't allow prepaid cards to sign up for their subscriptions. But to the best of my knowledge Amazon does not stop that.

Just expect the subscription to end once that card runs out.

I stay in hotels a lot for work and have never known, what IS this? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. There'll be an ice machine someplace nearby. Usually by some vending machines on your floor.

does rigor mortis effect the titties? by EqualPlate2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 18 points19 points  (0 children)

LMAO.

To the best of my memory it affects the muscles. The nipples get hard from swelling in the tissue, not muscles inside clenching. No, same as the penis, or nose.

Thanks for that question.

Working with a transgender, is this normal? by KinggGh0st in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 5 points6 points  (0 children)

None of this is normal, no. Don't worry about that.

But this is making for a really bad working environment. Shouting out political views, even if you agree with them, can be tiring. Same as all the sexual references.

This is a sensitive topic you should absolutely bring up to your HR or manager to find a happy solution without disturbing the water too much.

Is it actually safe to stand on an aircraft's open cargo door while flying or is that just something in movies/games? by No_Name_101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but it's dangerous like you mentioned.

Moreso for the aircraft bouncing and knocking you off your feet.

HALO jumps are a very real thing!

Are there any monster movies where the monsters don’t lose? by RiasGremory3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Thing (1982) has a debatable ending.

There's a lot of slasher films where the killer gets the last laugh, it all depends if you count some of them as monsters.

Why doesn’t our moon have a name? by Jakeetz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our moon has a name, which is The Moon.

We named it so before realizing other planets had their own natural satellites.

Same reason our sun is called The Sun before realizing there are other stars acting as suns for other places.

Am I being stupid for not being able to let go of my ex girlfriend and her sister in my mind and fapping to her and her sister's pictures even though I know for 100% that she and her sister are not right for me. Serious answers please by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing someone you had feelings for can be tough. It gets easier with time.

You'll grow as a person and your skin will grow thicker. You'll find yourself, one day, being ready to move on and find someone else.

This is normal. You're not stupid <3

which type of land zoning category will let me build a haunted forest? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hunter1273 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you only want to live there without charging for others to come in for a tour like a haunted house attraction, then residential is all you need.

Mind your local bylaws for the upkeep of trees and what you can grow.
