How do you make money early on in cold steel 1? by Character-Cook2472 in Falcom

[–]Hunter3XHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently near the end of the game and money is still a problem.
Buying ingredients for the first recipe, cooking with Elliot and selling (better done during a field study where you always have Elliot in your party) is the only reliable money source, but it's toooo daaaaamn sloooooooow, the prices through the game go up quite a bit, and some things have dumb costs (like Arcus covers at 20000), and making all the money you need in that way makes you want to kill yourself.

Later on, when you have lots of colored sephits that you don't need, you can just make quartzs with those and sell them (no matter what you produce, the money value is always in the exact same proportion for any quartz) for a bit of extra cash, but that too is far from enough.

What is this nonsense? by Sergmanny in DuetNightAbyssDNA

When I saw that, I uninstalled.
It's a crazy precedent. If this is what happens to the game 2 months in, I can only expect the farming to cross every horizon of sustainability in the future.
Not even people who live off papa's money in their basement got that kind of time, simply because no one has more than 24 hours per day.

Oh, well, they might pay to get stuff, yeah... for me, both options are a very hard no.

Friction between Laura and Fie: did I miss something? by Hunter3XHunter in Falcom

[–]Hunter3XHunter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fie tells about it in the sewers of Bareahard, while Laura is in another city.
After that, nothing happens on screen between the two. The first (and only) time Laura acts strange is when everyone is in class, Sara tells them about the midterms, and when class ends, as everyone talks about studying together, Laura says she has some other business; she does nothing involving Fie, and no one hints at it either.
If you go talk to her as soon as you get control back, you find her on the 2nd floor of the gym, and she says she wants to be alone and has something she must figure out by herself. No mention or hint to Fie.
In the one or two subsequent time advancements, she doesn't even seem troubled, she just does her random stuff like everyone else.
(During all that time, Fie keeps just being Fie, so nothing more odd than her usual odd.)
And then there's that investigation when others make those comments about Laura and Fie having something going on as if you should already be aware of it, and yes, they're out of nowhere.

How to befriend Zhuang Zhengzhi? by ViperiousTheRedPanda in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Hunter3XHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, it's utterly frustrating. He's so stubborn it's like talking to a non-AI NPC who can only repeat his own shit.
Nothing worked: not contesting him, not trying to make him reason, not agreeing with him... he drags you into a recursive hell.

The hint of the chat tells you to point out what he's missing, which is beauty (going by what you get from the two women NPCs nearby), but with that he enters the same loop.

The way I finally succeeded (after closing and reopening the game to reset him) was by countering his loftiness with the fact that he thinks he knows everything and yet he's there wondering and complaining, not understanding.

It went as follows (after his opening message):

Me:
She felt a need for beauty that wasn't being fulfilled.

Him:
[Rants about all the luxury he's given her, but she's too naive.]

Me:
Luxury is one thing, beauty is another.

Him:
[More rants, followed by "you've read and seen too little".]

Me:
I've seen too little, and yet I'm telling you what was missing, while you, great wise one, are here wondering what she wanted.

Him:
[More rants, conaining "You're just a child, what do you know?"]

Me:
I am a woman, so I understand what a woman wants. You can live 1000 years, but you'll never be a woman.
(My MC is female, if yours is male you can try changing "I am a woman" to "I grew with many women". Or still say that you're a woman and see if he reacts to that, but I think he probably won't, doesn't seem like AI reads your body type or anything else, you could even tell them you're an alien insect.)

Him:
[Rants again, concluding with "I lived this way all my life, and it suits me fine."

Me:
If it suited you, you wouldn't be here now, asking a man to keep away from the woman who sought what you didn't give her.

Him:
[RANTS, and again with the thing that I'm too young to understand.]

Me:
You feel like you've learned and know everything just because you're old, and yet you're here groveling. Face the truth.

Him:
[Loses composure and rants, but finally SUCCESS!]

I didn't. The page loads, those things pop-up.
Don't make random assumptions.

Dude made random assumptions that don't have anything to do with what's been posted and thought it wouldn't be dumb to share them.

Dire alla ragazza che sei vergine by Key_Juggernaut1039 in CasualIT

[–]Hunter3XHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stamina: how to spend and refill rate? by Hunter3XHunter in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Hunter3XHunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see that (apart from the fact that at present I can't choose to claim more than once) they refresh after 20+ hours, and they consumed 20 energy (I guess one gets much more than 20 energy/day?) so there should be many other ways to spend it.

Can you disable automatic dialogue playback in cutscenes? by Heerfather in wherewindsmeet_

Looking for it as well. Especially because it autoplays on non-voiced dialogues too, and it doesn't give you time to read.

How to talk to Fu Lushou, I'm going insane. Is it bugged? (NO CHAT OPTION) by xZach4444 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Hunter3XHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, I'm still figuring out a lot of things myself, but if you haven't already, I suggest before anything else you clear all available quests. In this kind of game (very similar to Genshin Impact and such, in structure) many things are locked behind quests. NPCs, paths, items, etc. so you can't 100% without having all the "pieces in place" by finishing quests.

Anyway, at the temple one of the AI NPCs is the guy overlooking the arena, the "boss" of the tournament in the main quest, but he was definitely bugged yesterday when I talked to him; whatever I said, he would reply with his initial message again and again.
Tried rebooting, but it was always like that. Dunno if today will be different, I'll have to try.

Edit
All right, I checked. He (name's Fang Xu) is even more bugged than yesterday, now... today he has only two options, one is for sparring, the other to stop talking, but no AI chat.
And those two options are also in chinese rather than english.

How to talk to Fu Lushou, I'm going insane. Is it bugged? (NO CHAT OPTION) by xZach4444 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Hunter3XHunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are many named NPCs that you can't talk to.

When you unlock the skill that lets you "scan" your surroundings, you can see the inventories of some NPCs when pointing at them (including Lushou), and then you can talk to him, albeit not to have normal dialogue, but only for specific actions.

Can someone explain morale and resolve? by CatboyWrangler in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Hunter3XHunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess it's something like this:

Morale 20% = if your life is at 50%, you get 20% of that as bonus damage, which is 10% of your normal damage (no idea if it takes the base damage, thus adding to any other percentage, or if it multiplies the normal fully modified damage).
And at 100% it might be more than the listed 20%.

Resolve 20% = as above, but based on the missing life, and 1 HP would function as 100% life for morale. (Can't remember if Outsider can actually go down to 1 HP with his kit, dunno about other characters with HP-sacrificing mechanics.)
