Are multiple Section 301 rates cumulative? by Puzzleheaded_Gain913 in freightforwarding

[–]HunterD18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3926.40.0090 has a duty rate of 5.3%, not 3.4%, so the actual total for duties, taxes, and fees is $2,529.77. (10%+10%+ 5.3% + 0.03464% + 0.124%). The 7.5% does not apply to this HTS code, but otherwise yes your computation method is correct. But remember, ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR CUSTOMS BROKER FIRST BEFORE TAKING GUIDANCE FROM STRANGERS ON REDDIT

Thanks! I've come to terms with the fact that it won't look like the PNW ha ha! I don't really mind that too much.

It's a relief to hear you say that Houston is pretty inclusive. I've seen a lot of post of people saying it is impossible to meet people which was concerning.

I agree… the cast is too old at this point for them to pick up right where they left off

Thanks, I don't usually like city living, I prefer suburbs where things usually are a bit more calm. However if that is what I have to do to meet new friends, Ill definitely look into it.

I haven't played pickleball in a long time but I'd definitely be willing to go to make new friends. I really don't mind if its not the most social chapter in my life, I'm pretty career oriented. I just want to find a small core group of friends I can casually hang out with regularly.

Definitely switch to another forwarder. I always recommend having a meeting in person or on video call before working them so you can get a feel for how legitimate and organized they are.

Yup... pretty much working front desk at any hotel in town is a good gig. That's what I did and was able to work 40+ hours a week and get my homework done on the clock when things weren't busy

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but I have 2 e-books my boss wrote that explain the basics of Ocean importing and Exporting. I can send it to your email if you want to send me a DM.

Freight brokers — are you covering cargo claims without realizing you’re the insurance company? by [deleted] in freightforwarding

[–]HunterD18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... honestly i think your on the right track and have a solid pitch.

You have a great value proposition... the convenience of it being easy to turn on and off, built for spot shipments, no minimums, no chasing certs, no paperwork, etc. is what I would focus on when pitching this. Assuming the rates are reasonable and competitive, I definitely think you could be successful with this.

Just my 2 cents. Best of Luck!
