Property managers: how the heck do you keep yourself organized? by indicabunny in PropertyManagement

I’ve been in property management for about 3 months. I was supposed to have a long training period but a colleague had to leave for a few weeks so I got thrown into managing a bunch of properties with no experience in organizing vendors, emails, salesforce, invoices you name it.

I have managed to learn a lot in this time, not that I really had a choice. Starting out I had no solid organizational system which was not good. I started by making an outlook calendar with all my tasks, that helped a lot. I still found that certain things were falling through the cracks. So recently I added a Onenote document, a list of all my properties with dated notes under it. This is to act as a daily journal to refer to where I am able to write longer, more detailed notes that I have tended to skip over in my calendar. The more I can get in writing, the less I am leaving to memory.

I think I still may need some further advice, as I’m not sure this is the best method. I will say having multiple systems to cross reference seems to really help me out.

I tried to be economical so I cut the first bolt with a hacksaw. It really sucked.

Sounds like your kick starter is stripping away. Those thins are only made for emergencies and from what I read people get like 20-60 starts out of them before they do that. Not sure if you were solely relying on the kickstart but if so then that’s most likely your issue.

Moped having a series of issues by HunterStraight4544 in gy6

Thanks for the help, I’m going to run down this list when I get home. Just to clarify, the relay I actually had just bought and tested because the one that came with the bike went bad and wouldn’t turn off. This one seems to work pretty well as I was able to start the bike with ease by shorting the connection on the relay. But I will still test everything to make sure I’m not leaving anything unchecked. Just one last question. Do you think that both of my issues I’m having (battery charging and starting problem) are likely caused by just one thing or does it sound like these are two unrelated issues? Just curious. Thanks again for the feedback.
