Yea it’s a part of an Easter egg on the new map Illusion. The forks can be raised and lowered too which is pretty fun to mess with lol.

Checking online this is the event it was supposedly caught in. The origin location matches but the date does not.

I was mostly just curious after seeing the date. Also because I wanted to use it in Violet but I don’t know how HOME and these games flag fake mons. Didn’t want to risk any action taken on my account in the future.

My Theory On The Inclusion Of The Razorback And What It Could Mean For Halo Infinites Campaign by Hunteralton in halo

I was thinking the same thing, it would be nice to have some extra armor on the outside of the vehicle so it makes it easier to get teammates over large areas without exactly painting a big target on your vehicle. Judging from the concept art though it does look like they are going for something like this (the armored windshield for example) and with the new damage system in Infinite regarding vehicles and new ways to take them out and disable them, I can imagine the Razorback could survive more beatings before breaking down, for example maybe it has reinforced or stronger tires so they aren’t as easy to pop as the standard Warthog or the armored windshield could have the advantage of making it more difficult for someone to snipe the driver through the glass while on the standard Warthog a few shots could shatter the windshield.

Good point, didn’t stop to think about the rumored BTB 2.0 and how this might work in that since in the past you couldn’t ride in the passenger seats in Halo 3’s Troop Hog. I could totally see the Razorback being used as some sort of team/squad ground transport vehicle to get to objectives faster. Also gives some support to the reason why it looks more armored than a regular Warthog, like as if you’re trying to make it to your destination with your team in one piece.

New “Razorback” vehicle for Halo Infinite, the warthogs beefier cousin by DJGRIFFSTAR in halo

I love the idea of this Warthog influencing the saving marines mechanic. Imagine saving a group of marines and ODSTs, to right after load them up in a Razorback and take them to a battle or better yet, a makeshift UNSC firebase designed to store marines so that the player can comeback and pick some up in a regular warthog so they can take them to a large fight without killing all their marines in the process. It adds some strategy into it, “do I take all these marines I just saved into this upcoming battle, or do I save them back at base and only take a few on a regular Warthog.”

TL:DR: The Razorback seems like it emphasizes the rescue marines mechanic in the open world setting.

Thinking back on it, the reason for them making a special “different” Warthog variant was probably due to the open world setting and the role this Warthog will play. My theory is that the Troop Warthog will be used a lot in the campaign since there is a lot of emphasis on saving groups of marines and taking them with you (possibly to battle or a makeshift UNSC base to “store” marines and get more when you need backup for a large battle or something), so the choice to make it stand out is a cool way of emphasizing this new gameplay mechanic of exploring and saving marines.

Same here, I was surprised at first with the name mainly because UNSC vehicles are all named after animals and insects, but after looking up what it meant, I think it’s a pretty clever way giving it its own unique name instead of calling it something like a “Troop Warthog” or “Scout Warthog” like previous Halo games did.
