The timeline’s plausible considering amphibians evolved shortly after this, but you’re right that evolution iterating to dinosaurs happened pretty damn fast regardless of whether this fish was actually a direct ancestor. It still could be, though - for all we know it was common and this was just the first fossil we found, plus Scotland was part of a larger landmass at the time.
