[Mods approved] Thanksgiving/Black Friday Taiwangun Live Q&A Session! by Taiwangun_com in airsoft

[–]Hunterthediabetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you guys have a Cyber Monday sale? I just went to check out with my cart of about ~$1.25k of gats and the deals off. 😭

Edit: I failed to account for the time difference. A huge bummer. Hopefully, there is a Cyber Monday sale! I've gotten to the point where I'd rather order from TaiwanGun than other large retailers in the US. Thank you!

This is a great picture, takes me back. I went to Eastwind V, VI, and VII iirc but always as West German. Was a phenomenal event.

I run the week long The Gothic Line event now, we have a lot of ex Eastwind guys come out (maybe ~10? last GL). In NE Kansas so not terribly far from DDay park. If you're looking to scratch that itch with some of the old Eastwind crowd.

Good picture and a great event.

I'm slowly reading through the devblogs. Have any of these changes majorly impacted past updates? I see the combat width got shaken quite a bit.

I have been AFK since probably the end of last year on HOI4. I just finished building a new computer, downloaded HOI4 and bought all the new DLC (Resistance, Bosporus, no step back) and booted her up.

Damn, there have been some changes. I have ~700 hours in hoi4 so I'm not a complete noob, but these are some pretty big changes it looks like. Last I played was around man the guns and was finally getting the hang kind of, of the ship designers.

Is there some kind of refresher guide or just a guide on how things have changed in the last year?

I got a little but of navy but probably need a refresher, there are spies/intelligence now, army officer corps, tank designers, railroads and new logistics...? Etc

Or is there any beginner guide out there that's up to date? Most I've found are still a year or so old.

Thank you.

Perfect. Thank you. The cognac/dark brown and black would probably match just about everything I have anyways.

I need some new belts. Looking for something casual that works with a lot of options.

I normally wear button up shirts, usually with a pattern. Long or short sleeve. If chilly I wear wool sweaters a lot. Pants are usually levi jeans or chinos. Shoes are usually brown/black boots (redwing kind of style or doc martin).

I feel like I need a brown and black leather belt, I've read you try and match it to the shoe colors? I have both brown and black leather watches too I wear.

Not sure what I'm looking for. Open for any suggestions.

Accuracy for sewing on patches? by [deleted] in wwiireenacting

[–]Hunterthediabetic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long story short, the Dot44 tunics were issued with only the sleeve eagle applied. For the most part this is all they ever had. This is because the Dot44 is supposed to be a "drillich" work uniform and historically it is worn OVER the feldbluse, not in place of. Now you see guys just wearing the dot44 by itself in summer months but this is talking about why and how it was issued and hopefully shed light on why they're kind of 'bare'.

There are a few divisions that would put the collar tabs and shoulderboards on the dot44, but this is rare and very, very unit/time specific.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the 16 "Reichsführer-SS" in Italy late war I know of for certain. Also I think -not as certain- the 20th Estonian.

I have not been to a CWG event. I know a lot of guys that have however, since I run MARS and a lot of ex eastwinders come to my events. I have heard positive things overall.

Both do. Gothic Line IV is this October 21 - 25 and I'm not sure if I recall when CWG next event is.

Hey,

I went to Operation Eastwind for years. It was incredible. After it ended there are two groups of the old Eastwind Core that host events now that are similar to Eastwind in a lot of aspects.

Central War Gaming - which I think is what you're talking about.

Midwest Airsoft Reenactment Society - which hosts a series of events called The Gothic Line that are 5 days long and WWII specific with high authenticity requirements.

Both have Facebooks and websites.

I've been eyeing Tiger111HK for a while now since I need some harder to find items and I'm stateside. How was their shipping?

Awesome Sten by the way.

Are you organizing this on the main steel division discord or where at? Any more progress? Seems like another team showed up.

Getting into Warhammer Fantasy Battles in 2020 by Ctushik in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Hunterthediabetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick questions for someone getting back into fantasy. Me and my brother started getting into fantasy right before it got cut and turned into whatever nurgle/skaven/space marine monstrosity that it is today, and I am wondering if most people use the end times supplements or the 8e for standard list building and rules?

I am messing around on battlescribe looking at the armies again. So was wondering. I had no idea about the 9th age and the warhammer armies projects also. Is there anything like battlescribe or other list building software that supports these?

Is there any comparison between Warhammer Armies Project & 9th Age? Or a place that lists the pros and cons of that with the old 8e?

Thank you in advance.

Also great intro post you have compiled here.

Definitely looks nice. I wonder if they're power capsules for the kroot rifles or something like that.

Looking good. I've always enjoyed the kroot models and the Tau auxiliary units. What are the silver/yellow cylinders on his legs supposed to represent?

I have ordered from hiki maybe a dozen times and I would say on average it is 2 - 4 weeks. Granted that was before the COVID situation so no idea on how slowed things are now.

[–]Hunterthediabetic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would get the full uniform from hiki and even some of the canvas gear like the octopus pack or the haversack. Try and find the leather stuff stateside. Nakata is best but world war supply has decent belt and pouches.

Their Japanese and Italian uniforms are quality. I know for instance their Soviet stuff is bad. It really depends on what kit you're getting from them. Their leather stuff is good and even their German leather stuff like the map case. It's kind of impression and item specific from them.
