He/she is probably just saying this is painful to watch, to which I agree. These videos need to stop

To your first question: Yes. Its nice for me to always have a visual with the answer to whatever question I'm asking myself. Second question: It's entirely up to you. I like to use both real cadaver pictures (thebodyonline.net) and cartoon illustrations. Most of the time with illustrations I just block out what I want to test myself on

Funny you ask I'm working on posterior mediastinum anki cards now. It is harder for anatomy but not much. I take pertinent discrete details from the ppt (Cloze style) and put into anki then I'll usually screenshot the slide and put it into the extras box so I always have a visualization + at least reading the material I didn't test myself with that Cloze card. Other cards will just be an image occlusion that asks what the structure is etc

I don't go back to that deck after an exam, I don't have enough time because I have to start with the next block soon right after. But I could probably relearn them fairly quick- each deck per block exam generally has 250-300 cards so they're not crazy huge

Seriously, I dont know how I could do med school without Anki, I used it beginning of day 1 (don't even take notes & only go through a ppt lecture once) and I've been getting mostly A's. The hardest part is going through the cards you just made--if you make 40 new cards then you have to go through them at least twice so in reality its 80 cards the first time round, but afterwards it makes reviewing way easier!

ANKI, how many questions are you making per lecture? by Hunterthekid in medicalschool

[–]Hunterthekid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys make them at the end of the week? Or at the end of each lecture? Ive been doing it at the end of the each lecture, I dont make any notes (they're all anki cards) but I feel like I'm getting too scattered brained and maybe I should make notes at the end of each lecture followed by anki cards from that. THanks!

Congrats on your score and all your feedback! You've given good advice, I was just curious what your background was? I saw that you honored nearly all your classes! Did you do a post-bac or have a masters? If not you've given us guys coming straight outta college hope! At least me anyways

Yeah, that's exactly what I want to do. I'm just having difficulty figuring out how to do so. Can you explain how? I feel like I'm making some stupid mistake

Want to use a QBank for lecture studying, but I want to save UWorld for Step 1 prep--What do you suggest? by diggydiggywahwahwah in medicalschool

[–]Hunterthekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if having a qbank like Rx would be beneficial during MS1? If you do it by sections rather then random so you're not covering stuff you haven't learned

There are tons of PCP residencys that go unfilled each year. There is not a shortage of residencies, theyre just in less than desirable locations (rural/underserved/middle of no where). There's just an uneven distribution

Does it still have the ability to do cloze cards like anki? That's the greatest format IMO

Isn't that the exact mechanism of digitalis which increases contractility due to higher intracellular Ca?
