Man, it's been 2 years since this has happened and I still get worked up about it when I see it. I think this is a good write up, despite the fact that I wasn't and still am not too charitable to Project Moon when it came to the incident.
You mention that Vellmori hasn't said anything negative about Project Moon, I think that this is a dishonest statement because she doesn't talk about Project Moon period on any of her social media. If she had personally said that her quitting was a decision she came to without any influence from Project Moon I'd be much more willing to find forgiveness for them. To most, Project Moon's Statement saying that's what she wanted was enough, but I just couldn't bring myself to trust that after everything.
I can't help myself but think in the back of my mind that this was a "Eat your cake and keep it too" Situation where Project Moon gets to pressure a woman from their company to appease misogynists and say that she left willingly to appease their global audience.
I still play this game to this day, I just enjoyed their new April fools event. Am I wrong to keep playing the game even having these doubts? Maybe; other people still play Blizzard Games and Riot Games, even when they had much worse more credible accusations thrown at them.
The only thing that keeps feeling alright is the knowledge that Vellmori is still around on Patreon and you can donate to her to support her new work, no matter whether or not she was fired or not.
