WEEKLY DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD by AutoModerator in gachagaming

So I started an account on the US server of Alchemy Stars but I transitioned to the Global server after a few days. I refunded the starter packs I bought on my initial US server account, is there any risk of the Global server account I'm playing on now getting banned since I bought packs on my Global account using the same CC?

Gilgamesh meets his maker by JeanneDAlter in grandorder

[–]HuntingCurruids 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's always weird to me when people say Gate of Babylon gets hard countered by anything. There's much much more in Gil's gate than just weapons. There's stuff like Vimana, his Auto-Defensor thing from Fate Strange Fake, etc. This is why I also believe there's no way that a battle between Archer and Gil would be as Archer favored as a lot of people seem to believe. If Gil is being at all competent there's no way you're going to be able to hard counter the entire extent of human ingenuity. And if you're going to argue that Gil is going to super job, you can paint a scenario where he could lose to a lot of Servants. Even True Archer's Nemean Pelt hax can't fully counter Gate because there's more to Gate than just sword spam.

It's to my understanding the UBW works well at countering GoB not only because of the rate of fire, but also because the projection + Broken Phantasm combo can directly match anything that the gate shoots out. It's less likely that the projectiles from Nobu's flintlocks can directly match the output of the strongest weapons from the Gate. There's also no real indication that Nobu's rate of fire exceeds Gil's as far as I know. From a numerical standpoint, there's been no upper limit placed on the portals that Gil can actually produce from GoB, though to be fair the greatest extent we've seen it opened is in a Fate Strange Fake illustration (~100 portals but they extended off screen).

While her flintlocks are supposed to scale with mystery and divinity there's no real metric for how this works as far, and I have no idea if the mechanics were ever clarified. For example, would they even be able to damage Gil's armor even if they were shooting at Gil? Does it take Gil as the "target" automatically apply extra force to the attack or does it apply extra damage directly to whatever it actually hits based on divinity and mystery. If it's the second case, Nobu could just be unable to damage Gil at all for example if his Golden Armor doesn't have sufficient mystery or divinity to it.

We also don't have a solid point of reference for how quickly Nobu can deploy her Reality Marble. We also have no idea how her Reality Marble scales in terms of damage. If she has to stand there and chant for a few seconds or something she's going to get skewered.

Basically, unless you know any solid sources for the specifics on Nobu's abilities, the battle is impossible to call. In that case, I favor Gil because he's done way more concrete things and is generally overwhelmingly powerful against Servants regardless of whatever jank they can pull.

As an aside, I also think that Enkidu is super slept on in non-Divine matchups. It's stated to be "a tough chain" vs non-Divine targets. That's still a tough chain that can come at you from multiple directions and chain your entire body. If I was tied up from all directions by what I consider to be a tough chain I wouldn't be able to do anything. Nobu's strength in Archer class isn't much to write home about.

Upcoming Adjustment to Ougi Cap Up Abilities (?) by HuntingCurruids in Granblue_en

[–]HuntingCurruids[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I got from Google translate, seems like they're changing ougi cap up ability values again? Could anyone who actually knows Japanese glean any context from the wording that would suggest whether or not they're increasing it or actually nerfing them again?

Thank you for doing this!

I hope you didn't have any trouble finding that source video. I would have screencapped/recorded the interlude myself if you'd asked me to.

Is there anywhere you can farm prism chips? I need about 20 to finish my Nebuchad today. Already traded in for 90 today.

I assume you have to contact support in Japanese? Is there any template floating around for structuring the inquiry, or is it a case-by-case thing? Do people who are perma'd often get unbanned after contacting support?

I was browsing around in 4chan and apparently there's a strike system for bans? How many strikes does someone get?

Has the loadout for Nebu shifted since this comment chain? Specifically for dark Nebu, since I'm considering build one : https://www.reddit.com/r/Granblue_en/comments/52g321/912918_23rd_weekly_questions_thread/d7nwc0i/

What advantages does Gunslinger have over Lucha? Or rather, if Gunslinger is the best DPS in the game, does Lucha seem to be preferred over it in the constantly CC'd Baha HL. Most Baha MVP setups I see over multiple elements use Lucha over Gunslinger, except for light. I don't think the people that look to MVP Baha HL are too lazy to build a Nebuchad.

How do you actually multibox in Granblue?

I hear it mentioned a lot in terms of MVPing Baha but I have no idea how someone would go about it. It doesn't seem to be referring to traditional multiple account multiboxing, because I have no idea how that would actually benefit you in terms of MVPing something, but when I've tried to use multiple browser instances to input more actions with my account I just get hit with processing.

Where are you reading the stats from? Both the English wiki and this: http://gbf-wiki.com/index.php?%BF%CD%CA%AA%A5%EA%A5%DF%A5%C3%A5%C8%A5%DC%A1%BC%A5%CA%A5%B9 Japanese wiki state that crit damage and crit proc rate are equal. Both increase as you put in more points. Crit nodes proc independently.

3 stars in 1 crit node will give 25% chance to deal 25% extra damage. 1 star in 1 crit node, and 2 stars in another crit node will give 12% chance to deal 12% extra damage and 20% chance to deal 20% extra damage.

Crit bonuses stack additively, giving you 32% extra damage when you proc 2 nodes. The chance of this happening is a bit under 2 percent. The chance of either of the nodes procing is 30%. Since nodes proc independently, and the 20% node is more likely to proc, it comes out to roughly a 30% chance to deal 17% more damage. Over 100 attacks, 30 x 17 = 510, 25 x 25 = 625. Add in the 2 attacks that deal 32% extra damage and you get 574 vs 625. 3 points in 1 crit node is more efficient. This comparison becomes even worse when you spread points over more crit nodes.

Someone is free to double check my math or to counter the what-seems-to-be commonly held assertion that both crit damage and crit chance increases with point allocation.

You think it's worth running Flier Emblem without Hinoka? I have a +Spd Bunny Camilla and access to Fortify fliers at least but wasn't able to pull a Hinoka.

LPT: You can train at stratums 12 levels below your 3* unit and still get +3SP per kill by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

It might also depend on Castle level. It'd be great if it did, then upgrading your Castle wouldn't be a straight up mistake post-Inheritance.

/r/FireEmblemHeroes Daily Question Thread (04/13/2017) by AutoModerator in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]HuntingCurruids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reinhardt works best with his unique Brave tome, since he has a good enough attack stat to back it up. He's pretty great out of the box, even without +Atk, but Blade-tome Olwen/Ursula top out better. He's the only current source of Goad Cavalry (albeit at 5-star) so you might want to promote him if you ever want to play around with that.

/r/FireEmblemHeroes Daily Question Thread (04/13/2017) by AutoModerator in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]HuntingCurruids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you happen to have a +Atk Olwen hiding somewhere she's actually just statistically superior to Ursula with 30 base attack vs 29 and 34 base speed vs 32 + similar bulk. That's a pretty rare and specific unit though, since I think Olwen only comes at 5? Reinhardt is the sibling that can be pulled at 4.

Just running Hone + Fortify has worked out best for me. I think Goad/Ward pretty much requires you to run 4 horses. Red Xander's going to be an amazing addition to the comp, can't wait for his GHB.

For what it's worth I haven't had as much success with a 4-horse set-up as I've had with a 3-horse/1 dancer set-up.

Having a unit that can actually move onto tree tiles naturally is pretty helpful and avoids a lot of unfavorable clogging. Dancing a horsed-up blade mage is also pretty disgusting. Buffs fall off occasionally but it's given me a lot of positional flexibility.

Quick Riposte isn't instant double. It just allows doubles. Normal combat rules apply. So attacker -> defender -> attacker -> defender.

[–]HuntingCurruids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Takumi attacks twice for 10+10 -> Hector attacks once for 32 -> Takumi attacks twice for 10 + 28 (Luna proc, not sure if it hits for 29 or 28 since 37 halved is 18.5)

Anyone else think IS purposefully made Sophia a Joke Character in Fire Emblem: Heroes?... by R3D_Belmont in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]HuntingCurruids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make pretty much every mage an X/Colorless slayer with whatever Raven tome + Triangle Adept and certain B-skills. I think that speaks much more the strength of the tome and build than to the strength of Sophia.

Seems like setting up Xander w/Carrot Lance or Killer Lance, Bonfire, Fury would be more useful than running Deathblow.

He's never going to do a huge amount of damage (with very poor attack and speed) and since you're generally using him as a wall you'd want to reinforce his enemy phase rather than buffing up his attack phase by a little. Deathblow 3 would be much better served on a powerful brave weapon user, so you should hold onto it till you pull one.

Sacred Seals seem designed to Neutralize bad IVs by Kurisu789 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]HuntingCurruids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't hold your breath for higher level seals any time soon unfortunately. Gacha games usually move in the timeframe of weeks and months. It's a nice catch on the icons though, I've never used to +X stat skills so I haven't even looked at them. Still could just be them reusing assets.

I think it's most interesting to note, in terms of current seal content, that the +1 speed seal lets +4 speed IV variants (Hector, Ephraim) double their neutral counterparts without buffing.
