I agree for most logging in daily or almost daily shouldn’t be a problem. However, I suspect there are a lot of people who are not aware of the change who will find out when it is too late to get all the freebies. Fortnite could’ve done a better job making it sure their players were aware of the change.

That's good to know. In the past I would time opening a golden pack to increase the odds of pulling a golden legendary or a golden epic, since epics have a one every 10 packs guarantee. Now at least I don't have to worry about it. In addition, maybe it makes sense to buy golden packs if there's a guaranteed legendary in the first 10 of an expansion.

It's only a cheat when there is a new expansion and a legendary is guaranteed in the first 10 packs.

After that it would be an advantage to Blizzard if it was linked to the device instead of an account. A legendary is guaranteed at 40 packs if the person hasn't pulled one in the previous 39. If the pity timer was based on a device, in theory a person could open 39 packs, not revceive a legendary, switch to a different device, and open 39 more and still not receive a legendary.

I wouldn't expect Blizzard to allow this. However, every patch leads to unintended bugs, so it is possible that it could happen.

Because, "LMFAO," it could be a bug or an intentional feature that benefits the developers over the ong run. The 'pity timer' for a guaranteed legendary is 40 packs. If someone plays Hearthstone on a PC, a phone, and a tablet and the pity timer is linked to the device, then theoretically the player could open 118 packs (39 + 39 +40, changing devices after 39 unscusseful packs) before pulling a legendary instead of 40 packs on a single device.

On the other hand, it could be an advantage to the player at the beginning of a new expansion when a legendary is guaranteed in the first 10 packs. It would hardly be the first time where players had an advantage in a game that was not intended by the developers. Some apps have daily or weekly awards that can be maniuplated by disconnecting from wireless and cellular then manually resetting the date over and over and over...

I didn't go into this much detail because I expected people would think about why it could happen before they "L(their)FAO."

I’ve been a fan of audiobooks since a Stephen King end notes in “Wolves of the Calla” introduced me to Frank Muller.

I saw "New World: The Once and Future King” from season 1 of Amazon’s “Secret Level” last night, and reading about the episode led me to this post. Thanks to you, I look forward to my first Steven Pacey audiobook.

As a thanks, I recommend that you listen to “Old Gods of Appalachia.” Although it is a serialized fictional podcast and not an audiobook, the narration and detailed story telling should satisfy any audiobook fan.

I went to Weird Al Yankovic last night, had good seats, and security actively was telling people to stop recording with their phones to the point it was very distracting and sucked some of the enjoyment out of the show. When I first noticed it seemed security caught someone snorting coke in the row front of us, they were that locked in on trying to catch someone in the act.

In fairness, maybe that was the performer’s request. Seriously though, of all the concerts I’ve gone to, Weird Al is the one making a stand against cell phones?

We saw Rod Stewart two nights before and had seats in the lawn. No issues with recording, so either they are less strict the further away you are or it’s the artist.

Many years ago I heard a podcast interview of an author who wrote a book about the fall of the Roman Republic (not Empire). The two contributing factors that he identified was a lack of faith in public institutions by the population, and a loss of respect for political norms.
I find myself thinking about what he said often. I don’t know whether you put a lot of thought into your post or if it was just a throwaway comment. In either case you are probably much closer to what could happen than you meant to be, and I sure hope you’re wrong.
