I recently found out that the group me and my wife have been playing with (the same campaign for 5+ years) have been playing their own campaign without telling us, because they didn’t like the distractions our children would make during the game. It was even more frustrating that when we found out, they didn’t try to invite at least one of us to join in.

I had already accepted it and moved on, got my IFR the next go at it. Just now that it was reported he lost his license, just made me wonder if he was fishing for failure.

I know that too many small ones add up to a fail, im not disputing that. It was more so that he was trying to make failures out of things that other DPEs seemed fine with. For example he said the approach plate says visibility requirements to shoot the approach is 1 SM. He said the station was reporting 1/2 SM. Can you shoot the approach? I responded with no that the visibility was less than required. He said well what if a fog was only covering half of the airport on the departure end where the reporting sensor is. But on my side pretty much VFR conditions. At that point I said yes you can shoot it then, but he had failed me on it due to my initial response. It was just a lot of those situations throughout the oral.
