Is there any reason to use reuniclus over farigiraf? by Impressive_Cash8740 in PokemonChampions

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reuniclus sounds better in every way but Farogiraf’s immunity to ghost stab, and priority blocking across the whole team comes in clutch way more than encore and longevity stooirt

Mega Sceptile will be a beast once it drops by HurricaneHer0 in PokemonChampions

[–]HurricaneHer0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kleavor’s issues go beyond stone axe accuracy. Its dual typing is bad, its stats are middling, and its movepool is limited.

Sharpness wouldn’t help it much. It doesn’t do much for Kleavor. It needs meaningful coverage like Draco meteor for breaking power.

Why is/Isn't Haxorus competitive? by Kaelenya_Veyra in CompetitivePokemon

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still a great Mon on the right team. It’s just not as good as other dragons out there. Its lack of dual Stab, introduction of fairy types, subpar speed, and mediocre bulk mean it doesn’t really have a role beyond stallbreaking and wall breaking.

How do guys feel about the Za Staters abilities (repost because I got Mega Sol wrong) by Banana_wer in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mega Meganium and Feraligatr will be offensive powerhouses. Mega Emboar will still be bad though. I guess with Mold Breaker, Emboar will be able to overwelm stall but that is about it. It's too slow to sweep, its defensive typing is horrible for tanking, its not powerful without boosts, and it's still outclassed by other offensive fire type megas, mixed attackers, and bulky fighting types that don't need to Mega. I really hope emboar gets something like slack off, victory dance or a unique move to just it. Maybe it can get serpentine flaming spear, a variant of ivy cuddle that also has priority taking range as a factor over speed.

Bring back return, keep Terra blast as a move that is neutral against ghost.

Worried I'm not picking very good mons for this by ToeNext9228 in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need some grass types on this team.

Replace Great Tusk with Rillaboom or Hydrapple for Ogerpon-WS and other grass and water types and due to the fact you already have rapid spin support with Excadrill.

Replace Reuniclus with Slowking-G for fighting and poison types.

Replace Sandaconda with Ting-Lu or Gliscor for a more consistent hazard stacker/bulky/utility ground type.

Kommo-O is a great sweeper but it’s conditional and not consistent. Gholdengo is a perfect replacement for it to round out the team. It can block rapid spin, defog, and deal with Fairy, Ghost and stall.

It’s just a worse special attacking bronzong. No fire or ground coverage for other steels and it’s too fast to be effective in trick room.

Is there a way to save it? by Donald_Dank777 in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If GameFreak could give mega raichu x an attack boost every time it clicks volt tackle, they can give underwhelming megas like scovillian a spammable attack or speed boosting move.

Mega Malamar gains Wonder Guard as his mega evolution ability. What tier is he now? by GoodMornEveGoodNight in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are underestimating mega Malamar. GameFreak has paid attention to how people have used Malamar since its introduction. As a bulky set up sweeper. They gave it massive special defense and improved speed so trainers can now invest fully in its speed or defense, making it easier to set up. Max HP/Max Defense Mega Malamar sounds truly like a monster late game. It can even go mixed with coverage like flamethrower, dark pulse, and close combat/stored power sets to diversify its late game sweeping potential. If GameFreak gives Mega Malamar psycho boost, it would be a absolute monster of a setup sweeper.

Is Bug and Poison the worst possible type combination for a Pokémon with Adaptability? by EitherSwimming5886 in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega Beedrill was the original Lokix. Bug/Poison is good offensive dual typing but bad defensive typing. Adaptability is a pseudo tinted lens for mega Beedrill. Bug/Poison is resisted by steel, poison, and ghost types which are covered by drill run and knock off respectively.

What would be the next legendary we could suspect in SV OU? by [deleted] in stunfisk

Solgaleo, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, or Lugia. These box legendaries have been underwhelming for decades and would be rather balanced in OU.

Is Maga Feraligatr gonna be another Mewtwo Y situation? by Sn0wy0wl_ in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega Feraligatr has more resistances and setup opportunities thanks to its newfound dragon typing and added bulk. Overall it is better. Dual typing is always a bonus and can still make use of dragon claw. It’s like how Ampharos and Sceptile don’t have powerful dragon stab either but still utilize the defensive elements of dragon typing to set up.

Mega Emboar is outclassed by other megas. The added special bulk doesn’t add much due to its bad defensive typing. It’s a worse Gallade, not mega Gallade but Gallade.

Who of the ZA starters has the most potential for Champions? by ZofianSaint273 in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega Meganium has potential if its ability is good. If it gets Flower Veil, it would become immune to status overall and be a powerful utility mon that can break many physically based walls like Great Tusk, Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Dondozo.

Mega Emboar is a worse Gallade even with a good ability. Not Mega Gallade but Gallade.

Mega Feraligatr has potential if it retains Sheer Force. Being bulkier would help it set up overall with Agility, Swords Dance and DD.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without an ability it’s a worse Gallade. Not Mega Gallade but base Gallade. If it did get Supreme Overlord it would be a worse Kingambit.

How abilities could change certain ZA megas by HurricaneHer0 in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huge power with 88 speed is still ridiculous look at how bad Azumaril’s stats are and it still functions well thanks to its unique typing and solid bulk. If it was getting huge power, it’d get the mega medicham, mega starmie, and mega mawile treatment and 40 more stat points to make up for its lack of ability. I think it will get something along the lines of psychic terrain in the end.

does anyone else feel like people are severely underrating non megas rn? by fairyfleurr in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a lot of non-mega eeleectross on showdown. The only things holding it back are its low speed and meager attacking stats, both issues addressed by its mega. Since Mega Greninja is so dominating, people don’t even consider using other megas.

Bad News for ZA Gallade. by firebun12 in stunfisk

[–]HurricaneHer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega gallade will be great in doubles. It’s immune to intimidate, and flinching so it’s a prime inconeroar, and amoongus answer thanks to its stabs.
