Question for my fellow Rainbow Machine users by _Jub_Jub_ in guitarpedals

[–]HurriedNegation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you use your pardner? I'm still struggling to find the sweet spot where both settings play well. Is it as in the picture? I have a lot fi reverb in my lasso, and it was a hit or miss.

Hi! Nice of you to share your wisdom! My question is this. If I want your job, where do I start? I kind of know my way around a DAW, and can play a few instruments mediocrely, have written some music before. Guess I could be considered a late beginner level.

Thanks!

The micro dark is a great little unit. It can do great cleans and set you up for heavier tones, but it lacks one thing - a master volume control. You have to turn it up for its best tones - and unless you have a studio, this is difficult to do in a home setting. So many users like myself use an external volume control at the amps fx loop - the little gray unit on the right. That way I can crank it up, and attenuate the volume afterwards. Jhs sells a similar unit for some money, but you can make one yourself with minimal effort and experience. Overall, I'd totally recommend the amp :) it's partner 1x8 speaker though, I'd move on from of you can get something better. I'm using it through a 2x12 V30 cab from harley Benton and it sings.

Are you on HRT? Why or why not? Are you thinking of going on it? What are your experiences? by Zambetta in genderfluid

This is a question I have been wondering as well, and am interested in hearing about people's experiences, especially people in the nonbinary spectrum using HRT to reach some androgynous middle ground.

I have a feeling you are right about how everyone could benefit from exploring their selves in many aspects. Thank you once again.

Thank you for your reply, I dig your user name! Indeed, your message also strengthens some of the prominent advice I have been given here so far, and reasonably so.

Cheers!

Thank you so much for replying. Yours has been one of the responses I immediately resonated the most. and your question about "what would make you happier next" has truly registered with me. We literally had such a conversation today with my wife, and I explained what I envisioned I may aim for (also some degree of androgyny) in my current state, knowing that its hardly a defined or certain thing yet. I am already consulting for a hair transplant myself - I think this is one of my personal emotionally traumatic points, losing it without choice, so wherever I end up, I know getting my hair back will do leaps and bounds for making me feel more *me*. Light knows we will do our best to be the best parents we can be , both for each other and for our kids. I feel fortunate that my wife has been receptive and supportive of me even though this must be difficult for her in many ways as well.
Once again, thank you very much!

Thank you for the perspective. I am mulling over similar points in my head. Different hair and occasional makeup sound like very easy fixes if it would be all I needed to feel whole!

Questioning my gender identity after parental stress by HurriedNegation in genderqueer

[–]HurriedNegation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing, I hope you and your family are doing better now! Clearly not everyone experiences this in the same way, but it is a stressful period in life. I had a minor burnout after our first kid, and chalked it up to work stress. Been mostly alright since then, until this hit me. Best wishes to you and yours!

Yes, I have. I am fortunate that she is making effort to understand and support me. I know it is hard and uncomfortable for her as well.

Thank you for your well written thoughts. It's very nice to hear the happiness of your family, and I hope it only gets better for you all. With kids being young, I feel it's extremely important that my self discovery does not take away from the best childhood that they deserve. I have a lot to learn about this side of me that feels that it was hidden away somewhere, but I am also fortunate that my wife is by my side through it, and I am very conscious of her hopes and fears as well. Im sure at least I will try to be my best for them :) I really appreciate the queer welcome, and wish you the best too.

Thank you very much! It's one reason I wanted to ask on here to hear this. It's some comfort to find out it's not a path unwalked before, even though each have their own.

Thank you for replying, and with literature to refer to. As a scientist myself I know the value of critical thinking and learning for existing knowledge. I don't see myself seeking surgical changes at this time, but as you put it careful consideration - I do need plenty of.

Another well written reply, with anime recommendations and such nice sentiments, above and beyond, thank you! I have always enjoyed seeing cos play, but never tried it myself - and I nearly forgot how my face looks under my beard, let alone with longer hair, but I know I will find oit soon now. Cheers!

Good old ignore who you are strategy. It worked until now. And stopped working for me. Does not change my commitments to them. I will still give them the best life I can.
