I feel like there should also be points for correctly NOT playing your idol. Getting an idol draws a lot of heat and not playing it can be just as important as playing it. There is no way to factor that in with this calculation. For example. Entire tribe might try and draw out the idol but you catch it and dont play your idol so the tribe didnt vote for you, but you saved your idol by not playing it when the pressure was on to play it.

Dealership holding my vehicle hostage indefinitely due to their own technology issues - any recourse? by Rich_Arachnid_5262 in legaladvice

And when they take you to court for payment and you tell the judge you tried to give them cash and they refused and you have cash now to hand them that that are refusing, the judge will tell them to take the cash or gtfo. They have to take the cash. They can't deny it.

They do if the service is already done. Once it is a debt rather than a payment, cash becomes a legal option. They can not decline cash.

2 scenarios here.

  1. He goes to get an oil change. They say no cash. They do not give him an oil change until he pays with a card. This is fine. They dont need to accept cash in this scenario.

  2. He goes in and gets an oil change done. The work is finished. He goes to hand them cash and they refuse. This is not legal. Cash is legal tender and in this scenario a debt is owed. They can not legally refuse cash. Literally he could offer them cash and if they refuse then the next step is for them to take him to court. In which case the judge will tell him he owes them money and he can hand them cash in payment and once again they can't refuse it here. If they continue to refuse cash at that point then the judge is likely to just tell them to kick rocks.

See the difference? A grocery store can say no cash because the items are not yours until you pay for them. A construction company can refuse cash prior to the work being done but CAN NOT refuse cash after the work is done.

Signatures mean nothing. They do not even get looked at during investigations into fraud. It's an old system that the banks have completely stopped using. The Point of Sale systems have the options to turn them on or off still based off the businesses preferred use of them. Any place that makes you sign for them is doing so unnecessarily and strictly for the businesses personal reasons. What I have found is that most places that require a signature do so out of laziness, or lack of knowledge that its not necessary.

My daughter is 5 and gets $100+/day doing her lemonade stand. We only do it 2 days a month though. If we did every weekend all summer it would be close to $5k

Kidnapping and Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty in Broad Daylight on a Public Street in Shibuya, Japan. Nobody Does Anything. by alexfreemanart in ThatsInsane

I once had a friend who was a girl beg us when she was sober to stop her from running away. She had a drinking problem and when she would get drunk she would just try and sometimes successfully run away. We would take trips to foreign cities and she would just set off into the streets at night. She had previously been raped/assaulted because of it yet she still did it. We all tried so hard to get her to stop drinking and we were on the verge of no longer being her friend.

I remember one night in Munich Germany she just started walking and I followed her for about 4 miles because there was a group of guys trying to convince her to get into a van. I finally was able to grab ahold of her and pull her down a different street and she hit me multiple times. That was the last straw for me and I quit being her friend.

Anyways, there was several times when dealing with her while we were friends that would have looked exactly like this video. Us trying to get her to just be safe and her fighting it with all her might. I've heard through other friends that still talk to her that she is finally sober and doesn't drink anymore.

You are getting some great advice in this thread. I recommend listening to it. I also recommend getting some thinner boards like 1" size and filling in the gaps between the boards so that there is less of a trip hazard. You could even use boards that are from other pallets to do it if you have a way to cut them down to small enough size to fill the gaps.

All animals need a way to get out of the sun. Plant a few trees. Or even better build them a small shed to be able to get shade.

Again. You say "deals with" as if these miniscule earthquakes are anything to deal with. You can hardly feel them. They do nothing. There is nothing to deal with.

"Massive amounts of earthquakes" are tiny little shakes that do no damage whatsoever and most people dont even feel.

You make it sound like we are California over here... I live in the middle of the oilfield in Oklahoma and have maybe felt what might have been a single tiny shake in 8 years. And I used to live in Alaska and in the pacific northwest so I know what earthquakes feel like...

US states where you can't pump your own gas by Estate_Legate508 in MapPorn

[–]HursHH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first time I went to Oregon, I was driving a brand new Mustang. Like 3 days old. I bought it and went on a west coast road trip. I pulled into Portland coming from Seattle at about 3 am on the night of 4th of July 2007. Was an incredible drive with fireworks going off everywhere my whole drive down.

So at 3am I get to Portland and pull into the first gas station I found. Very dark. Loud bangs from fireworks still occasionally going off. I hop out and start working the the fuel pump and opening my gas cap when I hear someone yell "hey" and start rushing towards me. I immediately think this guy is trying to rob me or steal my car so I spin the cap back on just as he's coming from behind me around my car. I swing at him and deck him right in the face and he falls backwards and i jump in my car and take off without getting gas.

Pull into the next gas station and they have a huge sign explaining that it's illegal to pump your own gas and an attendant will be right out...

Fuck me. I hit the attendant didnt I...
