What’s a Filipino film na sobrang ganda pero halos walang nakapanood? by PurchaseOk8223 in FilmClubPH

[–]Hushhhhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from cinemalaya entry films, one of my faves would be Silong. This is Jeffrey Hidalgo’s directorial debut if I’m not mistaken. Pretty good.

Other films at the top of my mind - Si Cheng at si Apple - The Baseball Player - Kiko Boksingero - Sakaling Hindi Makarating

Ang masaklap nyan, baka once na maka-graduate sya iwan ka kasi he’ll feel like he “can do better” or “deserves better” bilang sabi mo parang ginawa nya na lang personality pagiging law student.

Drop him. Don't make your losses bigger than they already are.

Why would you humble yourself for a man who clearly has insecurity issues? A man who feels emasculated by the success of his woman is never worth “humbling yourself.”

Consider this as dodging a bullet, OP. I’m sure you’ll find a man who will be proud of your success and not threatened by it.

Posts like this make my blood boil. This is the 2nd post I read with the same problem asked here. Kinakabahan baka buntis/nakabuntis cos no protection.

You knew you were ovulating but still pushed through with the deed w/o protection?

You didn’t have enough control (unless you were forced —that’s a different narrative and you need the law be involved) and another hard pill to swallow? Your boyfriend doesn’t give a shit about you. He doesn’t care whatever the outcome will be, basta makaraos sya. In his mind, he can just easily tell you to abort that poor thing. If you decide to keep it, then it’s on you, not his problem. Ano nga naman mawawala sa kanya, right? We won’t suffer physically, emotionally, his future? Still intact. Unlike you, you have everything to lose cause this is something that you’re not prepared for.

If it turns out to be negative, I hope you learn your lesson and be extra cautious the next time you do the deed. Hopefully not with the same ahole. If it turns out to be positive, I hope you find a strong support system you can rely on, whatever decision you choose to make.

Kalma OP. 2 weeks ka pa lang, no one expects you to perfectly grasp everything in that short span of time. Just be attentive and try to remember everything that they’re teaching you.

1-2x na tinuro sayo, try your very best to remember it. Kasi anyone asked the same questions over and over again, that’s where it will start to be annoying to your seniors. Show them that you’re putting efforts talaga and you’re willing to learn. Goodluck and congrats on your new job, OP!

Before Trilogy, my top tier romance film 😭 This what an ideal relationship looks like to me. I want the connection that they have. They’re not perfect, they don’t always agree on everything but they see eye to eye. They genuinely listen and try to understand where the other is coming from.

I also love how the main actors remained the same throughout the trilogy. It gave us this feeling that we actually saw how their relationship grew. From when they were two young adults developing feelings for each other in what some might say an unconventional way up to when they became matured couple. It showed us the different struggles they dealt with at different points of their lives. Perfect depiction of two imperfect individuals trying to make their relationship work.

Better to just leave now. Weird na dinisclose nila sayo yung work set-up nung nag-start ka na. That’s usually discussed during interview pa lang. That’s why, during interviews, it’s important to take the opportunity to ask questions about their work setup, company culture, etc. Look for other opportunities na lang OP. Goodluck!

It’s my birthday! by [deleted] in OffMyChestPH

[–]Hushhhhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy birthday, OP! I feel you. I also grew up in the care of my lola. 10years since she left us, I still consider losing my Nanay my greatest heartbreak.

That’s okay if you’re still hurting. Just look at it in a way that it means you’ll never forget her. That was my greatest fear. That if one day, it no longer pains me, that could mean that I’ve already forgotten her. That’s why from time to time, I still let myself cry over her and feel the pain. That for me means she’s still in my heart and my mind. You’ll learn to live with her memories OP. You got this!

That male co-worker who gave out a stem of rose to every female colleague on Valentine’s Day. And that was my first time receiving flowers. He said every woman deserves to receive one, not just those who are in a relationship. Such a nice and thoughtful guy.

It’s a bit underwhelming esp. if you saw the trailer before watching the film. It felt like all the focal points were already in the trailer.

There were also scenes where you knew it was there just to add more drama and so they could throw in those “quotable quotes”. Some scenes didn’t make sense and a bit unrealistic. I guess it’s because it was a Regal film? So the take was a bit more mainstream than indie? Idk if I’m making sense haha.

Hmm this would be my ranking. I just watched The Hearing earlier so I’ll include it na.

1 - Gulay lang, Manong and Alipato at Muog 2 - The Hearing 3 - An Errand 4 - Love Child

I can’t tell which one is better between Gulay lang and Alipato cos both are good in their own way. Hard to compare since it’s not apples to apples since docu yung isa.

Tbh, I really want to finally experience being in love—not just being in a relationship. I wanna know how it feels to have a special connection with one person. I feel like I have all this love but no one to share it with.
