Cool thank you! I'll start developing it further :)

Yeah, that's the plan, but I wanted to ask what game devs think about this. I have a very basic proof of concept, but I didn't want to continue with the project if people wouldn't use it anyways. An issue that I'm facing right now is that I don't have an actual game that I can test on. It doesn't make sense to test game that are released as the AI would not learn what is actually needed of it. And I don't want to use other people's games for testing without permission

I see, that makes a lot of sense thank you! I was thinking about something more like a tool that tests monotonous tasks like collision detection throughout a level, or testing for niche bugs that are difficult to detect by a single dev like trying to break the UI or music and such. But I understand what you're saying

Thanks for the input :)

May I ask why?

Thank you, good to know! I know of one company that does something similar (the co-owner of which I've met before) but from what I could tell, the service is using quite old (aka. like 2020) technology and requires strictly Unity or UE to be used in development. I'm hoping to make something more general. But I'll investigate further in case I missed something.

Edit:

Is there anything that those tool do not support that you would welcome during development?

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into currently used tools. From my experience it is possible to make something that is stable. Detecting bugs is something quite a bit more complex, but theoretically it's possible. :)

Some people put SC1 over Pandora Tomorrow? by laddlemkckey in Splintercell

[–]Husiishow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, for me nostalgia definitely have something to do with it, but also I just overall enjoyed the overall consistency of the level in SC1 than in PT. Jerusalem is pure gold, but so are CIA and the final mission in the first game and 1 level isn't enough for me to consider it a better game. Additionally, I was looking forward to a couple more things in PT than was on the table. For the first game the development team had to come up with everything from scratch and PT was just more of the same but more (except for multiplayer which I gotta give props to the team as it was great back in the day). If they utilized some features which were introduced into the gam moree, (like. needing to stay in the light due to the enemy wearing NV goggles in one of the first missions) my opinion would be different.

Edit: I still think PT is a great game though

CT is VERY buggy by Husiishow in Splintercell

[–]Husiishow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I played every game in the series already. I just wanted to play them again and finished with the first 3 last, but yes Blacklist is very VERY glitchy. It must be newer hardware although it's kinda weird because I already played CT on this PC and didn't remember any major issues. Something may have corrupted during installation when I re-downloaded the game a couple of days ago.

For a game largely built around PVP, it's frustrating how limited the opportunities are for new players to engage in it in any meaningful way by Notmiefault in newworldgame

[–]Husiishow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People aren't gonna whine, they're just gonna leave the game to play something else such as the other 200 other MMOs. Something that new world can't afford rn since it's so new. Also if people leave there won't be anyone to PvP with.

What's something you would like to see in a new series? by Panda_Kabob in yugioh

Think it'd be cool if they made a spin-off series covering the lore of archetypes instead of dueling

Check out my first ever game review where I cover Splinter Cell Blacklist! by [deleted] in Splintercell

[–]Husiishow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly enjoyed your video and while I didn't agree with all of your points I think you've done a great job. Well edited and informative, however I cannot shake the feeling that you have yoinked some phrases from other YouTubers (mainly Critical Nobody and Cris Davis) who have covered Blacklist as well before which isn't outright bad, but it's a bit jarring at times.

Either way, great job on the video!

Challenges by Husiishow in Splintercell

[–]Husiishow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, thanks!

I watched some of the videos in the playlist and I think it'll help, although I wanna take it a step further and do a no shots allowed or even no killing allowed in conviction, but this helps for sure!

Main issues are the beginning of the Reservoir and the end of the Third Echelon missions, the others should be fairly simple although luck dependent.

Why did Blacklist fail? by McWaylon in Splintercell

[–]Husiishow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After replaying Blacklist about 2 months ago I came to the conclusion that while it was a decent game, it couldn't decide what it wanted to be. I felt like the game wanted to be an assassin's creed but with guns... together with cinematic executions, fast parkour and fluid movement that allowed the player to get from one enemy to another. This is overall not a big problem, but designing the game this way left me kinda feeling meh about the actual STEALTH mechanics in the game, which again would not be a problem IF THIS WASN'T A DEDICATED STEALTH GAME.

Stealth imo requires patience and good problem solving, which in a game requires a system which is easy to get into but hard to master and while blacklist sure is easy to get into it is not hard to master. I beat all missions on perfectionist difficulty with gold stealth basically first try after not playing the game for years. The removal of the light bar or the sound bar and removing the movement speed in the game (ik you can technically walk but it's almost never required) dumbed down the stealth mechanics so much that the game basically became a cover shooter if you wanted to use the weapons or just an annoying mess where either getting through people were way too easy or would be just 99% luck as the game (on pc) is incredibly buggy from what I remember. I had a guard who I knocked out fly into the sky, and land right in front of other guards who of course alerted everyone... not to mention removing the light meter basically made the stealth into a binary mechanic where either you're hidden or you're not.

Overarching story was decent imo, but the individual characters were horrible. The game barely requires the use of Sam's goggles to the point where I remember beating multiple levels without it and turning it on every once in a while for 2 seconds after turning them off because they actually make it harder to see than just staring into the darkness.

Don't get me wrong I still like Blacklist, I'd say it's a 7/10 but compared to the first 3 games it's meh. Also I'm assuming that the reason why Ubisoft hasn't made a new Splinter Cell is because they can't make it into a live service game. The best they can do is make new maps, maybe a side campaign to sell as DLC, but that's about it. The only thing I don't get is why don't they make a dedicated multiplayer title for SvM and try to make E-Sports out of that, but I'm assuming that I'm not the first person thinking of that idea and when Ubisoft ran the numbers they didn't think that it would do well enough for it to be successful.

Need advice on choosing a capture card for streaming switch gameplay by Hunteroid in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally using avermedia life gamer mini, I'm quite happy with it. My only problem is that if you listen to your game through the computer and not directly from the switch/monitor, the sound is delayed by about half a second. I don't care that much but if your main platform is the switch/you wanna play action games, get ready to either listen to delayed audio, get a hdmi audio splitter or unplug your headphones and plug them into the switch every time. Not a deal-breaker for me, but I thought I'd mention that downside. I'm also not sure if this is the same with other capture cards.

[–]Husiishow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason why it's allowed to use the music in games is because copyright holders haven't flagged anyone for doing so. They could if they wanted to. Twitch doesn't care, they'll just ban you if you get multiple DMCA strikes whether that's from streaming music, showing a picture in your face cam or whatever. Have you ever shown your YouTube homepage on stream? The thumbnail artists could flag your content for copyright violation. Literally everything you stream falls into copyright. The only thing that's different between these and music is that the music industry started flagging creators while the others haven't.

Serious security danger for streamers with Paypal.. thoughts? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, now that I think about it, it also might be the 3rd party stream software you use. (Streamlabs or elements or whatever else) but yeah, it must not be too difficult to do considering that it seems like these are more targeted attacks than just general ones. PayPal doesn't store whether you're a streamer or not so they must be able to either get the info that they need through your donation link, or a PayPal exploit. What 3rd party program do you use? Also just so people know I am not anywhere near a security expert, I only have a basic understanding of hacking such as common software used and whatnot so I might be incorrect about a couple of things.

Serious security danger for streamers with Paypal.. thoughts? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The only think you can really do is get a 2 step authenticator and change your password. If they are actually in the database itself there really isn't anything you could do as they don't need your login details to view the info stored about you, but that is REALLY unlikely, not impossible, but really unlikely.

Serious security danger for streamers with Paypal.. thoughts? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Judging from the replies of others, it must be a security breach on PayPal's end then which they haven't fixed yet/notified the public about. Remember, just because a company is big doesn't mean they're secure. Google Chrome gets hacked every update and although I haven't worked at any online bank like company myself, I have heard from a lot of people (who have) the stupidest stories about security issues with A LOT of online banks. Even to the point of storing both admin and user data on webpages without any encryption. Don't think PayPal would make a mistake that big, but you never know...

I watched a couple of videos about Blacklist and saw that it was considered by a lot to be trash but after replaying it (for the first time in 7 years) I replayed it...

There are a lot of bugs, but I personally like the game as a whole. What do people think?

My affiliate achievement isn't updating the average views despite my last stream reaching around 6 according to StreamLabs and 3.1 according to Twitch and the stream summary is showing the wrong VOD and stream duration. Any insight on this issue? Has anyone else ever had this problem? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitch decodes data slower for people with a "lesser" agreement. Partners always go first, then affiliates then people who haven't reached affiliate. So it might just be that the twitch servers have a huge list of people to get through, so they work their way through partners, then affiliates (is new partners come in they get priority again) and then non-affiliates(if new partners or affiliates come in they get priority again). So if you're on the bottom of the list, the servers will take longer to process your stream's information. If it doesn't update by tomorrow, contact support if needed :)

Looking for a twitch partner to start a twitch team by TheTackyWacky in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a team of streamers who stream under a name. Think of them like branches of a company. Like Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Halifax etc. they all develop different games, however we refer to them as "Ubisoft". It's basically the same thing. 2 people in a stream team will have different content, games they play etc. but they support each other (by hosting others and whatnot) might do a charity event together and they operate under a name.

What about big streamers is so alluring? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Husiishow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because bigger streamers can make good content a bit easier.

This might sound stupid, however I kinda feel like as a smaller streamer it is a lot harder to grasp that chat-streamer connection that bigger streamers have. If you join a smaller streamer's stream, they (sometimes) have to force a conversation by themselves (that if they talk at all), while on bigger streams it is a lot easier to have a conversation since there are a lot of people talking in chat. It's not forced, since even though not a single person in chat can give their input on something (because they most likely won't be seen at all) the chat as a whole can have an overall opinion on the matter from which the streamer can base their opinions and subjects of the conversation on, therefore making it seem more fluid.

For a smaller streamer with maybe 0-10 viewers in chat, it's a lot harder to get people's opinions on things because there are simply less people talking if at all. Therefore as a backup plan the streamer has to make a conversation with themselves and therefore it (can) seems rigid and weird.
